Caesar.: Have you made any additional lifestyle changes these last couple of weeks, or is this the reward for persevering with your initial plan?
No intentional changes.. Towards the end of week 3, I found that when looking for food (because I felt hungry), I would end up thinking "do I really want to eat something?" and deciding not to and just making a glass of Vimto cordial instead. This would make the feeling of hunger go away..
I don't have any popcorn with me today though. Might try going without it this week.

Lexor: I'm not so sure if such decisions are healthy - it depends what food it was and what kind of hunger feeling it was. I don't always just get a drink, depends how close it is to the next mealtime. Close? Drink. Pretty far? Grab an apple or something instead.

Malt sugar (found in beer and some other stuff too) is very fattening for some reason. Better to keep intake low.

Fairfox: not gud. you should only step back an' ask yourself taht question if youre bored an' wantin' a sugary (etc) snack to pass teh tiem. if youre legit. hungry you should eat, not try 'n' quash it with drink immanorexic; i kno what its liek to active lee starve mahself. dont skimp if youre hungry
I've never seen it in actual scientific lit, but there's a popular health theory that many people misperceive thirst as hunger, so turn to snacks in moments where the body is trying to express a desire for water, and it is true that both thirst and hunger have some similar superficial expressions.
https://www.seattletimes.com/life/wellness/hunger-vs-thirst-are-you-eating-when-you-should-be-drinking/
I'm sorry you struggle with that personally though.
edit - oh, and intensive mental focus does deplete glucose in the brain, so working/thinking can create a craving for snacks as well that isn't, strictly speaking, boredom.
I haven't read the thread since the first page or so, so perhaps that's already been covered.

Bit of slowdown for week #5 at 22.5%, but still.. progress! Winner will be chosen from posts up to and including #190.
Didn't have popcorn this week and had a couple of treats (triple chocolate muffin and 50g of white chocolate.. both gifted to me) which could be the cause but again, speed is not that important.. only direction!
EDIT #1: The popcorn wasn't replaced with anything, it was just omitted.

Good luck to you.
On the positive side, trying to lose weight can be great for saving money, I spend more on food than I do on rent because I have a ridiculously hyperactive metabolism and end up looking skeletal if I have a "healthy" amount of food.
I'm kinda jealous of people who have to work to keep their weight down, eating 5-6k calories per day just to maintain a weight that's 20# under where it should be is a pain, and really flippin' expensive.
I'm sitting here, typing this, with a 40 oz jar of peanut butter with molasses and dark chocolate chunks mixed into it eating it by the spoonful because nut butters are one of the few things that I can get a TON of calories from without stuffing myself beyond capacity.
