Leisure Suit Larry--a great example of the classics that got us here, or you can pre-order Omerta: City of Gangsters--a promising Mafia crime sim that's showcases the quality & variety of the kinds of games that GOG.com will continue to release (new and old!) in the future.

We owe all of this to you--our gaming audience--and we're extremely grateful. This is as much your achievement as it is ours and that's why we're giving away 500 games to thank you. To enter the giveaway, simply tell us, after clicking the link, what's the next big step for GOG.com. Should we land on Mars? Create a small DRM-free country on some lonely Pacific island? Create an evil A.I. that will threaten mankind with endless tests? Just type a few words for a chance to win one of 500 games. You can get some extra entries by sharing, tweeting, and following us on social media. You're not joining any mailing lists or signing up for anything. We just need your e-mail to send the game. The giveaway ends next Thursday at 10:59 AM GMT. Join it here: GOG.com 500 Giveaway

Thanks again, and see you at a thousand games!

graspee: I really dislike all this forced social media activity in order to get "extra entries" for the raffle. Leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
Well it is for extra entries so I don't know if I would call it forced. You get 5 just for answering the question. The other 3 are the social network ones. But I hear where you are coming from where most businesses use facebook likes or something similar to get into contests.

c01mhth10ch: I would love to see some <paradox interactive> games games here, I realize it's not easy to score some new release but CK2 is about 1 year old already and other titles even more.

Tho paradox does release lots of DLC content and I don't see that fitting in with GOG (if you made it fit in, I would not mind at all), but maybe when they finish up with the game we could have complete package (game + all DLC) on GOG as 1 release, and by then (few years after game is out) I really don't think DRM free release would be issue for anyone.

Anyhow, congratz on jubilee and keep them coming and STAY DRM FREE!
They published Sword of the Stars, on of the very few 4X games I am any good at. :D

emwearz: Awesome and entered.

Linux support was what should be next (I don't use the OS, but the demand is high).
Agreed.

And I really appreciate you supporting this even though you don't use Linux. It's just good of you.
Thank you for the giveaway! :)

The next step is: Selling more DRM free games, both old and new!
high rated
This is bullshit, so you can't actually get the same chance as other people here just because you don't have social media? I realize that this web 2.0 bullshit is really popular, but why is it that GOG is so completely sold out when it comes to FB and Twitter?

EDIT: My answer to the question: get rid of the stupid social network ties.

Already answered in the giveaway link, but I'll put it here, too. Keep bugging Square-Enix to release their older titles (preferably RPGs) and nag Konami to get on board with the whole DRM-free thing and release their games digitally. What I would do for some Final Fantasy and Silent Hill titles here.

For my first post ever I would like to just say: "Agreed"

I don't have Facebook or Twitter, in fact I can't stand them and the fact that they constantly get shoved under my nose is really annoying. But you can't ignore the fact that they can really help a company by providing them with free advertising which normally costs a lot of money. GOGs target audience is especially likely to have social media accounts so this type of advertising strikes directly at GOGs potential customers. More customers means more money for GOG which will allow them to grow as a company, which is something everyone here should want. I didn't bother with the extra entries and I'm fine with that.

Unfortunately people are like iphone buyers. U just have to follow the trends and copy everyone else. Mind you Twitter and Facebook do work if done correctly. And they are useful in their own way :).

GOG, with all due respect, having to sign up to some shady external site is stupid, but the rules to get entries in the giveaway a plain bullshit. If you're going to embarass yourself with a tweet-begging campaign, put it on your own site, and let people know about what they're actually getting into ahead of letting them sign up. C'mon, you've been better.

I'm not entering this thing, I'll say my suggestion though: take all the games you have prepared up your sleeve and sort them from oldest to newest and release them in that order. Update the sorted list every week in case new old games become ready for prime time so they in front of the line. You know you want it!

helwing703: In my opinion, GOG's next big step is their own client similar to Steam or Origin.
No.

spindown: I think GOG should start selling DRM-free movies and TV shows next.
+1

That's actually pretty good idea. More I use GOG, more I miss this kind of service in movie/television industry. By the way. I wrote I would like to buy titles I haven't played yet and wanted to, so more new games.

Gog should create a game about sharks with laser beams. Or maybe an rpg starring the employees at gog.

OR MAYBE COMBINE THE TWO WHERE GOG EMPLOYEES HAVE TO FIGHT SHARKS WITH LASERS!
I joined some time ago, when there were a lot fewer games in the catalog.

I had my doubts too, but have stuck with GOG, and have been very glad I made that decision.

Keep up the good work of getting new classic games, as well as the newer ones.
