Thanks for having this giveaway!

I'm in for Thief Gold, please.

I was born in 1997 so most of the golden era slipped by me. But I still regiously favour and play Age of Empires 2.

Count me in, thanks Sachys.

Having started gaming later, I haven't played most DOS games, the one that however looks the most interesting to me is the first Gabriel Knight.

and Thanks to stg for the great list

Dos era? I think that time i was a little wilder, most of the games were shooters.
Of course famous Doom, Quake, Magic Carpet, Tie Fighter and a real gem which i remember
Wurzelkraft said already: Star Wars Dark Forces: played with a friend on my new machine in one session
After having a C64 very long first machine was a pentium p75 and a monster compared to friends 486. If I remember correctly we started Dark Forces afternoon and next day around 6 am we were through - then a day sleeping and after a few days we played it once more.

And to throw some more names which are not too often mentioned:
Crusader

Lost Vikings

Schleichfahrt - worlds better atmosphere then aquanox

Champions of Krynn from the highly recommended wonderful first dragonlance books

Beneath a steel sky.

One of my old favorites has to be Beneath a steel sky. Why? Because as a child of ten years old i found it on my dads computer and played it until the end, with alot of trial and error since my english was not optimal at the time.

I Actually started playing it yesterday for nostalgias sake and i still love it.
Well, I suppose I'll join in for the fun.

Here's a list of some of my favorite DOS-era games:

Realms of Arkania 3 (great old-school RPG from a "long-lost" era)
The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall (another excellent RPG, far more in-depth than its successors)
Doom I and II (pretty much obligatory for any FPS fans out there)
Duke Nukem 3D (same as above)
Ultima 4 (game that changed the Ultima formula)
Tyrian (one of the best SCHMUPS evah!)

EDIT: Added Tyrian, how could I forget?

I'm in. New to this and sadly I don't have any real DOS experience. First real PC gaming would have to be Warcraft 2 and Tribes.
It Came From The Desert

Not on GOG. Such boobery, pandas are sad. Cinemaware cast adrift on the sea of stupidness. Pandas are very sad.

edit: in also, thanks :)

Youre welcome!
And youre in the right place to get some experience in the best old games on this planet (and dimension)
without bugging around in DOS memory manager to get enough free conventional memory to start games hasslefree.
Of course tweaking around the config.sys and autoexec.bat to get games running was already part of gaming ;-)
for reference: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conventional_memory
Huh. I can never tell if I'm in (the current one) of these threads or not.

Probably should say I'm in again just to be safe.

And I could have sworn I picked out my favorite DOS-era games -- Star Control II, Jagged Alliance, and Betrayal at Krondor -- all on GoG!

Honorable mention goes to Civilization I, Master of Magic, Doom II, Duke Nukem 3D (with Priss Nukem mod), Sim City 2000, Grand Prix Circuits, and Return to KROZ.

Thanks Sachys and Sigil. I'm in.

Master of Magic gets my vote. I'm pretty sure it's dos era, but it was released so long ago I'm not totally sure. :)
