Just popped up on Steam.

- Remastered HD graphics
- 3 modes of difficulty
- Remastered sounds
- Bonus goodies: development diary, making-of-video, tech. handbook
- aaaaand Achievements

Interestingly enough, it seems that this Anniversary edition is co-developed by DotEmu, but I can not see it being sold there.

I think we will see the updated version on GOG soon .
Maybe I'm missing something, but those screen shots don't really look any different than the 15th anniversary edition available here and elsewhere. Given the art style, I'm not really sure how much "HD" benefits the game anyway.

That's what I'm hoping. I'm not sure what the difference is between the 15th and 20th anniversary versions though. Seems like it's just achievements and difficulty modes.

Including nicer buttons with rounded corners on the menus?
What will happens if Valve make an exclusive contract with DotEmu about all its future releases ?

Giving that DotEmu have it's own DD site, I do not see that happen. It was just strange it popped up on steam first.

I mean not releasing all future DotEmu games on other digital download stores ( for example GOG , Amazon , GamersGate )
I'm happy with my 15th Anniversary Edition, thanks. No need for achievements in a game that can be completed in under an hour...

Same treatment Bethesda gets. People will either get the game where it's available, or boycott that company, sending them mails/tweets that they'd buy their games if they were available on GOG (or elsewhere).

Indeed. How exactly do you give vector graphics the HD "treatment"? I suppose you can always add more detail, but calling it HD as if it's something new is misleading.

Shouldn't he rather spend his time making something new instead of re-releasing the same game over and over again like he was George Lucas?

You made something brilliant once, now stop fiddling with it and go make something new! That goes for both Eric Chahi and George Lucas, by the way.

They do not really release games as such. They are developers and porters, in many ways the same way as you find gog games on both GG and Steam, though it is not gog who have released them there. In some ways, DotEmu do a better job, as they do more than just wrappers, but they are also smaller and much slower than gog...

It all depends on the individual deals with original right holders, and it is a little strange that DotEmu did not manage the same deals as it seems both gog and they have had before. However, do not forget that the 20th Ann Edition is a iOS / Android port, so there may be something with the deal there.

Chahi did not really have much to do with it, it was DotEmu who updated it.

Bethesda doesn't give a shit about GOG . They are happy with Steam . :(

And if DotEmu signs an exclusivity deal with Steam, it means exactly the same. People will either get the games they want on the platform they are available, or complain to the company that they would buy their games if they were available elsewhere.

Dang, I think you already cracked the only meaningful Steam achievement (complete in less than an hour). :(
