Tomorrow, Direct2Drive is releasing Manhunt 2 AO rated version. From what I understand, this is the version that does not actually throw the violence through a crappy filter ala Punisher. One of the cool things about it is that D2D is also including the original PC version of the first Manhunt game along with it, all for $30.
I preordered it and am having a blast with Manhunt again. I've played Manhunt 2, and it was ok, but I always felt like PC controls would have made the game a little more enjoyable. Manhunt's aiming system can be nightmarish with a gamepad. If anything, I'm doing my part to support AO games getting released through digital distribution. I've already purchased Fahrenheit this way, and that had nothing worse than an R-rated movie.
This is great news. I don't like it that it is DD only (for now, at least), but still, great news. :)
I'm not angry that the game is AO and will be out tomorrow, but rather I'm angry the game is terrible.

The first manhunt was a neat little game. Very visceral and oddly philosophical.

First one was great, yeah.

Second one looked meh to me. The wii version interested me due to the interesting controls....but they censored all versions of MH2 up until now with the completely self-defeating blur. Thats why you *play* a game like that...for the kills!

you can connect a wiimote to your pc via bluetooth, no clue as to whether or not that will work appropriately afterward though $30 is kind of steep for an older game.

Well, it is for TWO games.

Manhunt 1 and 2
Is it worth playing manhunt 1?
I only ever heard the controversy, even now you don't hear much about how the actual game plays out.

honorbuddy: Manhunt 1 and 2
it doesn't say that on the purchase page.
Apparently it was a preorder bonus. They took it down after they released it.
I've been having alot of fun with both. I've beaten Manhunt before, but never got very far in Manhunt 2. The sequel is defiantly more gruesome, especially with the pliers. (balls and brains, ouch)

Weclock: I think that if you preordered it it came with it, like Red Faction did. I could have sworn Anjohl said that somewhere.
Yeah, that's basically what Wraith said, I wasn't going crazy then, good.
