The bloated iPhone thing? What's it actually for?
It's like an iPod Touch that doesn't fit in your pocket! Awesome, I'll take five!
No, seriously, I'm thinking Apple has lost their touch (pun?). This thing is at least as stupid as putting a physical button under the touchpad, I can ALREADY click by tapping the touchpad, why the f*ck do I need a physical button there as well? If they were smart they'd remove the single button completely and just have the already clickable touchpad as it was.
Don't get me wrong, Apple usually has wonderful products and they're often the best at what they do, but I guess it's just that some recent products have been far from what I need or want, I'm sure many others share the feelings of my Norwegian friend above.
Also, instead of bothering with four youtube videos, get the full keynote in quicktime format at Apple.

I'm not. It's basically an oversized iPod touch/iPhone, and all the restrictions that provides. It doesn't have external memory, e.g. you can't plug in a flash drive, which suggests it'll be locked into iTunes.
It will probably only have slightly more advanced programs e.g. a word processor (whoop-de-doo) and higher resolution app store games.
The only thing that will be mildly interesting is whether it gets hacked to allow people to play their old Mac games.
I really like my iPod touch, but a bigger version of it is not something I'm excited about. That it's a bigger iPod and aspiring to take on the Kindle and netbook market is funny... netbooks will play many of the games here on GOG, the iPad will not (unless someone figures out how to put Windows 7 on it, which may support the touch technology, I don't know).

Apple's firmware updates make sure to kill support for ANYTHING that isn't their own product. Which is one of the many reasons I want nothing to do with the company.
It's nice that is has iPhone compatibility, but if you already own an iPhone, what's the iPad purpose then?
Kindle is meant for that primary use I think, so what else iPad does?! And the screen should be of a better resolution.

It's for empty people, with empty lives, to add some false meaning to their pointlesss technodelusion.

Instead of the iPhone and iPod Touch's 480x320, this one is 1024x768.

So that's why Twitter fanatic, Stephen Fry loves it to death? Okay, makes sense.
It's an attempt by Apple to enter a new market ;-)

LOL I was wondering how long it would be before we wound up with some demotivationals or photoshopped images about the name.

I know. I meant better than the 1024x768, it is 4:3 on 2010 FFS. :)
