I just saw both GOG and Obsidian posted on Facebook about a game designer who just released yesterday a mod for NWN 2. The mod being Baldur's Gate: Reloaded.

I can't wait to play it!

Cool! Downloading this now. Man, at this point we have a LOT of version of Baldur's Gate to choose from.

This is also the second IE game that got ported to NWN 2, the first being Icewind Dale. That one didn't have the addons, though.
Sometimes, the work of a few dedicated fans can just amaze me.
Wow. Maybe I'll actually finish BG now. (Or, more likely, I'll just end up with another unfinished version of BG installed on my pc.)

Wow.

Wow.

Wow.

I can't stand it.

Wow.
I'd prefer if someone made Neverwinter Nights Infinity Engine mod.
Bloody hells. They actually did it. I knew this was 'in the works', but never for one second imagined it would ever be finished.

Maybe this means Planescape: Purgatorio may yet see the light of day too.
Can anyone comment on whether its better to play BG1 modded (with BG2), BGEE, or through this NWN2 mod?

Between BG1&2 modded together and BGEE, I'd definitely go with the former. But I'll be eagerly checking out the NWN2 mod.
I just found this too. Sorry, I'm sure the effort the modder put in is a brilliant technical achievement, but this is a grand waste of time. The charm of BG are the beautiful 2.5D isometric maps and sprites. The NWN2 Aurora engine is a genuinely horrible piece of rubbish, which features perhaps the most infuriating rotating camera in the history of computer games.
I think it'll be very fun for vets Cros. People who've played BG a billion times will undoubtedly get a thrill from seeing the game in a new perspective. My only concern is lawyers pulling it down, as I hear happened with a middle earth mod for some other game.
I just thought about this mod yesterday but was too lazy to search for it, so thanks for the link. :)

I'm not sure I will end up playing this (I would I was dedicating more time to gaming), but it's an impressive achievement. I might end up playing BGEE on my Nexus 7 if the Android version ever arrives.
Yeah, I saw this through my RSS feed. F*cking awesome surprise. I wasn't actually aware of the project beforehand!
I don't really like the graphics in NWN2, so this mod definitely is not for me.

and who the hell plays NWN2 as a TPP game?!

NWN2 came out in what I think was the worst time for 3D graphics, at least the early period of 3D graphics (PS1, early PC) had some charm and is nostalgic in retrospect. But NWN2 graphics today looks like a low-budget Asian MMO, which is a shame because it has some nice writing and a complex ruleset.

Gonna love this. All hail the modders. Making our games awesome since the beginning of time.
