Hawk52: From a pure gaming perspective the 360 is the superior console. The Wii had a lot of great ideas such as the Virtual Console, but they've largely been abandoned.

For party experience, I can't vouch for the Kinect, but unless they've fixed it I remember reading that you needed a lot of wide open room because the sensors wouldn't be able to detect with other objects in the path. The Wii is a great casual gaming machine and if you can get a lot of people playing it can be a lot of fun.

I do not recommend the 360 for this reason: It's a piece of junk hardware wise. I do not know a single person personally who has not had a 360 break down. Not a single one. Myself, I've had THREE RROD's, my DVD drive quit working, and now the machine overheats. All it's good for is streaming content...when it doesn't overheat. I've had a lot of consoles and PC's. I have never had a machine so spectacular at finding ways to fail.

Mileage varies, but I'm personally done with MS consoles. If I ever get another one it will not be from MS, nor will I buy a replacement 360, or pay to repair this one. I'd rather use it towards a PS3 considering both my PS1 and PS2 still work.

wodmarach: No your a normal user I do wonder about the people who report multiple RRODs on newer consoles by the time of Jasper the cooling was about 2x more than you see on a current GPU and CPU combo in a pc...

And talking about the cooling, it is surprisingly quiet for the amount of cooling don't you think?

lowyhong: Guys, I'm still unclear about what I should do if the hard disk spoils. Is there a reliable guide somewhere that teaches this, or can someone just do a quick run through on the procedures involved?

I'll be getting a Wii for sure. I didn't say it, but my brother just suddenly told us today that he wishes he has a Wii, so that's definitely going to be it for his birthday.

Neobr10: I have a 3 year old Falcon Xbox 360 model and its still working perfectly, had no issues at all with it. By the way, before getting the Falcon model i had an old Zephyr which was also 3 years old by the time i sold it. And it was working, i sold it because i really needed money at that time.

wodmarach: 1. Homebrew your system (it really is that simple its 2-3 downloads placing them on an SD card and choosing install)
2. find and download a usbloader theres about 6 of them with varying degrees of compatibility
3. unzip it into the correct folder of your SD card

you then use something like wiimanager to wipe the USB drive and transfer the ISO's over (they are scrubbed while doing this so they're actually quite small 1-3GB usually...) plug it into the rear USB port closest to the edge and loading the program using the HB channel please note I recommend HB'ing your wii anyway so you can make those ISO's in the first place :P

wodmarach: The usual response is that the loudest thing in a 360 is the DVD drive :P basicly if you install your games you don't just get less heat you get a quieter system overall...

wodmarach: Why do people seem to think the only exclusives on Xbox are shooters? You have Halo and Gears sure but after that...
