That's some sad news. I like TET :( Now I understand why he was so quiet here during last 2-3 months.

GOG will never blame Larian for this. They are business partners...

I never had to complain regarding GOG, always loved the service. But this evening I'm really angry and upset for the lack of communication from GOG's side.

Not only I may have to wait 2 months to get this but you guys went so out loud about how the galaxy client will be OPTIONAL yet you're delaying this game for the same client and making it look as if the game will depend on it. Optional means Optional and you should have kept it that.

Secondly, I refrained from buying some great games from the Summer Sale so I can buy this game just so you can come literally a few hours after release to tell us we have to wait 2 months. I don't believe it's in your intention to bring back the sale just for this reason, and this because of your lack of communication. I blame you guys cause you didn't bother to tell this to us sooner.

Thirdly, You have a packaged and working build DRM-Free ready for your KS backers, a build which they will be able to play in multiplayer without Galaxy and they're getting it right now as I write this. But you forgot one thing, the majority of your customers who want this game probably are non KS backers, and you (or Larian) decided to leave us in the dark with a 2 months wait slapped just like that.

I'm sorry that you have to read all this, but I hope you can understand how us non KS backers must feel right now and it's not fair at all. Personally I don't give a damn about pre order goodies, the Galaxy client and online multiplayer.

I just want to play the game like the rest....

I hope TeT didn't leave because of some conflict.
I'm OK with GOG blaming themselves. But I'm not OK with GOG pretending that the situation is normal and giving no comments.

This pretty much describes how I'm feeling. I basically waited until after the steam sale ended figuring D:OS would release at least within the next couple of days on GOG because I wanted to support GOG like usual. Unfortunately, if I'm going to have to wait two months only to be required to have to use the GOG Galaxy client, which I imagine is the only reason to delay this, I'm just going to go ahead and get it on Steam where there's probably more people on multiplayer and mod integration with its workshop.

Are you really surprised. The same thing happened with regional pricing and their response on that.

Aehm... why the hell do non backers have to wait 2 month for an optional client to buy the game? GOG, this is absolutely bad marketing for your client!

So,
there was a BIG misunderstanding about being able to buy/ download the game. A lot of different people were posting here:
1. the KS backers who had already redeemed their key
2. the KS backers who couldn't redeem it/ did not get a key
3. people wanting to purchase the game

G-Doc did not realise this at first, thinking only people from group 3 were complaining. Some statements by Larian were posted about giving out keys for group 2. Etc.

So:
1. can download the game now (I'm using the GoG downloader for this, this seems to work)
2. should be getting keys tomorrow
3. will be able to buy this from around 21st of August, a GoG Galaxy enabled game

1 and 2 can play without the Galaxy option right now.

Actually, it's one name for two different things.

You could have a piece of standalone software (the client) that allows you to view your GOG shelf in it, download games from it, auto patch them... without it allowing any kind of multiplayer.

You could have a library for games to use (and server software on the back end) to allow match making and connection between services without allowing you to view your shelf or download games or auto update them.

GOG Galaxy is both with the same base name and different modifiers (client/online platform).

It will be playable without Galaxy for people in group three. Galaxy is just an excuse for the usual delayed GOG release for most games.

That much is already clear. Now some explanation is proper, why #3 have to wait.
