Well I know Ring Runner is a good game. It may not be a Roleplaying game similar to NWN, but it tells a good story. And the micro computer HUD that's in your head is funny to listen to as the main character and the machine converse on various topics.
I second (or 3rd, 4th... whatever) Bloodlines. It's one of the best RPGs I've ever played and because of the different abilities of the clans it lends itself for multiple playthroughs. I would recommend NOT to play Noferatu (the ugly ones, need to stay hidden from humans all time) or Malkavian (totally crazy) for the first playthrough.

Vampire - The Masquerade: Redemption is a totally different game, just the same franchise. It's not bad, but unless you really dig vampire stories there better RPGs out there.

Jade Empire is a good game. Just be clear that IMHO it is an Kung Fu action game with RPG elements, much like Mass Effect is a cover shooter with RPG elements.

If you liked Risen, well it's really time to look at the "original" Gothic 1 + 2.

popperik: Gothic 1,2,3

Made by the same guys as the Risen series. Great story, great music and of course their original language is German ;)

tinyE: *ahem*
Gothic 1 and 2. :D

The first two are timeless and priceless. The 3rd.....ISN'T! :P
I actually liked the 3rd game a lot. Just make sure you get the community patch and DON'T EVER go near the expansion :)

+1

It's a very good game but someone who is looking for a RPG might be disappointed.
Definitely play Gothic 1 and 2.

They are a must play if you like Risen.
I checked the mount and blade demo, looks very good and something to keep in mind.

akhliber: If you can wait until tomorrow, Divinity: Original Sin will be available on GOG, and it's freaking awesome.
Divinity it is for now, funny I have a day off today :)

While waiting, I tested Saint Row and it is just fun... http://i.imgur.com/aVMVjJq.png
The intro:

While I try to keep the police at bay, they keep shouting at me "Drop the vault!" lol http://i.imgur.com/0LKoAQq.jpg
Something like grand theft auto.
So much detail and your gang members sing to the music in the radio. The dialogues are funny as hell.

Yeah, the expansion is evil which is really all I'm familiar with, so I guess my post was a little unwarranted.

Don't forget 'ArcaniA' claims to be Gothic 4 too!

Speaking as one of the ten or so people who like Gothic 3 (I really should find a new way to phrase that), the standalone expansion (Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods) is terrible. I mean...they hired a new voice actor to voice the main character...but kept using the old voice actor's parts whenever possible...and the two voice actors sound NOTHING alike. It changed gameplay mechanics as well, Gothic 3 had no "essential" NPCs, but the expansion pack does and enemies completely reheal themselves if you have to reload a save, just to give a few examples. Gothic 3 itself (with the Community Patch) is great in my opinion, but the standalone expansion is simply awful. It's possibly the worst game I own, and I own Hydrophobia: Prophecy and Fallout 3!

Ya know, I couldn't get Gothic 4: ArcaniA (or whatever it's name is nowadays) demo from Steam to run and when I did find a working version of the demo, I wish I hadn't. Yikes...

Saints Row: The Third and Saints Row IV are both outstanding in my opinion. Great humor (though certainly not highbrow), memorable characters and really fun gameplay.

If you want another great open world game set in modern times check out Sleeping Dogs. Graphically it's beautiful, it has a very strong story with well written characters, and while it's more serious compared to the Grand Theft Auto and Saints Row series, it does have humor. The gameplay is great too, and is fairly similar (in terms of some mechanics) to the Batman: Arkham series.
