Already pledged my credits :) Me want-
Looks like they're going to fall just a little short of their goal. I suspect with that much money in the pot, Braben will top up the difference in order to access it.
Actually looks pretty good. Normally in these situations the backers themselves close the gap. Close to 75% now with 11 days to go isn't bad.
Now well over the £1 million mark pledged with 6 days to go. Its almost there. Looks like those vids, updates and Chris Roberts have helped alot.
Looks promising. £1,197,545 pledged of £1,250,000 goal and 59 hours to go.
Looks like its going just like I thought it would. Steadily to the end. I expect the final numbers to be around 1.5 million pounds.
Looks like they are going to reach the goal, question is: Will this actually be good or a waste of money for everyone who pledged?

Also: This is the first thing I think of when I hear the word "Elite"

This might just scrape it! It was looking real doubtful for a while, but these last couple of weeks have seen some great video's and a huge surge in bidders and pledge levels.

I'm currently at £80, which i think is my limit for this game. I hope it makes it, a new Elite has been too long coming! I hope this won't be like that other project that just missed it's goal by £20 or so!

@Roman5, i think it depends on if you liked Elite (or Oolite even) if you will enjoy the new version. It's true it will have a a few different play set up options that are different from the older games in the series, but if you want to keep the pure Elite experience of old, you can also play in single player mode (instead of the MMO mode etc).

So yeah if you liked Elite before, you will like Elite again, if not then probably not?

Six hours to go and it has already surpassed it's goal (1 502 789 £ out of 1 250 000 £ at the time of this writing). Looks like it's going to happen after all.

Didn't backed it, though. I'm a bit low on cash right now (after paying my university fees) and I don't have a joystick yet to play this kind of game). But I loved Elite (even though the only game in the series I owned was Frontier: First Encounters (nightmare to make it work)) and I'll definitely buy it once it's complete (hopefully, it'll appear on GOG along with the original).
Pledged £90 for this most expensive pledge in any kickstarter but i loved frontier so hopefully will love this and i am glad they have passed the 1.5 million £
Glad they made it, pleged over a month ago and quickly feared I wasted money on a prepay creditcard as the kickstarter seemed to go nowhere but somehow they managed it.
Also it seems a lot of backers waited for the last moment before pledging, which is perhaps something I should do more too in the future.

Now for a very long wait.
25,023 Backers, £1,520,837
pledged of £1,250,000 goal with 4 hours to go. Backed and then some.

I'm looking forward to this - Wish i could hibernate like a bear until the game is out ;)

I'm not entirely sure in which direction David is looking to take this. On the one hand he is making it sound like the game is intended to be more along the lines of the original Elite (i.e. very trade focused), on the other he is hinting about the kind of depth of the universe of Frontier.

Maybe he'll try and the holy grail of sandbox space sims - proper planetary landings with on-foot exploration over the planet and in the ship.
Elite was a pointless game, because without an end.
I hope this time he could learn from the past....
Just checked the project's situation. Funded with Mac version and more ships stretch goals reached. Nice. I knew there was nothing to worry about.

Pretty much the only 8-bit game I dig my ZX Spectrum out for, today!
