yyahoo: I can kind of understand when people believe that Bionic Commando was an NES original, but this is the first that I've ever heard someone suggest that Ghosts and Goblins was an NES original.

McDon: I meant Capcom games that were on the NES than originally on the NES.
Ah, okay, well, I'd rather if anything was going to be remade that it be one that wasn't already ported 100 times over anyway. But that's just my perspective.

Hmm, wasn't there already a project to reskin GNG with newer, fancier graphics several years ago? I distinctly remember something being worked on. I don't know if it was ever finished though.... I'll have to do a little searching for that...

Edit: Found it. It was RetroFX and the project was never finished. What they did release looked pretty cool though, especially for 1999.

yyahoo: Could we possibly see this on GOG?
Unfortunately not. The exact same question has already been asked over at Capcom-unity boards - unsurprisingly, the answer is a disappointing one.

"If they'd take it as is, I'd love to have it there, but this is a Steamworks-powered project which means GOG is not likely."
I was really excited when first heard about it but now, after they've released more game-play footage https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JjWYsWEi9-w it really got me worried. Just look at the huge life bar, this game will be a cakewalk even for a 6 yo. I don't really like the art style they took either, the 2D sprites just don't blend well with the background. For me it really starts to look like a cheap, nostalgia fuelled, money grab.

From what I have seen so far there's another classic that looks much more promising:

Well, that's unfortunate. That's a game I would have purchased, but Steam = no sale, for me...

That "Steam buying/partnership with GOG wish" made me cringe...

If only they'd port their other console games to PC.
I have the original GB cartridge :D
