It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Now, besides all of the standard hatred that vaporous, damp and foggy plattform earned, I just found out that it causes my Windows Explorer to freeze and restart indefintely when I'm browsing the store. I'm using Windows 7 64 Bit Pro, methinks.
The Library part is kinda stable, not really but enough to play games without constant Windows Explorer Errors.
I just posted that for your amusement but if you have anything useful to say, you are welcome to do so, nonetheless...

Yeah, I do - Stop using Steam, and stop using IE. Get any games that aren't on GOG from the pirate bay, and use Firefox as your browser.

Well these topics are popular of late, but this sounds like an issue specific to your system not Steam itself.
Steam killed Santa
I've had explorer issues myself and I've read people have it including close friends. None were connected to steam so it's possible your steam install is corrupt. Try reinstall it in a different folder than program files. If you have games installed I believe there's work arounds. Here's a video but the sound is lousy: How to reinstall steam witouth reinstalling your games (fast)
I'd like to apologize for the post I had here a second ago. I make it a point to never bash anyone or anything that I havn't experienced 1st hand. I just did that, and while I doubt anyone actually noticed, it was really bothering me.

Enough being serious. Back to work.

And then there's the bandwagon of course :)
That never happens to me
I suggest blaming your PC instead of Steam
Actually it doesn't happen to many people I assume due to the popularity
Steam is such a "evil" platform, because they are refunding money to all of the WarZ customers who ever bought that damn game.
Oh dear lord ....

Not a steam issue, something in your system is not happy...malware, virus', corrupted files, something....like others have mentioned first off try doing a fresh install of steam in a new folder (make sure to backup games folder or move it into new directory).

If that does not work...then start scanning for other issues...

Licurg: Yeah, I do - Stop using Steam, and stop using IE.
He said Windows Explorer, not Internet Explorer. Windows Explorer is responsible for navigating the Windows file system, and is what shows your running windows and the icons on your desktop. That's kind of a difficult thing to go without on a Windows machine.
