I hardly ever use mods, in fact the only one I've ever tried that I would wholeheartedly recommend is the Morrowind all-in-one mod (can't recall exact name of it). But I'm thinking of doing yet another play through of Fallout 3 and would so love it if I could change the experience gained to a smaller amount, without changing difficulty settings. In fact, the only direction I'd change difficulty would be to make it harder, but I _think_ that you gain MORE experience points using higher difficulties. I want LESS, but don't want to lessen difficulty. But I would prefer to play it on normal difficulty but have less XP earned.

Anyone know of any mods for that????

I just don't like playing and getting to the level cap way before being done. It makes the later stages much less fun for me. I guess with the enemies constantly respawning there may be no way to avoid it, but a start would be if I could say cut the experience points earned in half.

This question / problem has been solved by Kezardinimage
If you looking for mods then you should check on fallout3 nexus, somehow my internet not working very well now (and nexus don't load) but maybe this? www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/7674

Also you can find there some mods that make F3 more challenging and overall... better.

The best way to play fallout 3 is to not play it.

Pretty much this.
hmmm... i dont think F3 had a survival mode (like New Vegas), but there might be a mod for that - be worth looking up!
Try "Fallout 3 - Wanderer's Edition".
It's a total overhaul where you have to eat and sleep every day and a lot is more realistic and more difficult, in fact a bit like Fallout 3 should have been in the first place.

Why? In Fallout 1 and 2, you don't have to eat and sleep. If eating and sleeping makes Fallout 3 more enjoyable for you, I'm cool with that but I don't think a game should be like that(without a mod).

You could try something like the Arwen_Reduced_XPR mod.

Came here to make the same snarky comment as you guys >_>

Alternatively, instead of playing Fallout 3, you should perhaps just play Fallout 1 three times.

Thank you very much!!! That's exactly what I was looking for!!!

I was just responding to the first poster that I had never heard of nexusmods before and was going to check it out when a thunderstorm knocked out my power, been out for awhile, just got back, and saw this.

THANK YOU!!!

And pay no attention to those above who apparently don't know one of the best computer games ever made even if it bit them in, you know, that place. :-P

I do know one of the best computer games ever made, and it isn't fallout 3.

What? Having a differing opinion than yourself?

I absolutely hated Fallout 3, if it had a setting/atmosphere/plot/whatever more like new vegas I might have given it higher rating, but it didn't and was different in a bad way in my opinion than the rest of the series. I'd have rather had van buren myself.

You tell me, seeing as how OFG's opinion is Fallout 3 is worth playing.

No, he said "one of the BEST games of all times' I disagreed. He didn't say that it was "worth playing"
