OldFatGuy: Well, I've already played Fallout 3 three times, so I guess I've passed Fallout 8 already. I'm saving myself tons of money on future purchases.

You should play Fallout 3 two more times, maybe you'll like Fallout 9.

pimpmonkey2382.313: Wonder what happens when you play new vegas multiple times. Tactics part 60?
You start saving up for a trip to Vegas...
avatar
OldFatGuy: Anyone know of any mods for that????
avatar
Kezardin: You could try something like the Arwen_Reduced_XPR mod.
Indeed, it was what I posted in second post, just without fancy link. :P

Doh, jeez I'm sorry, I completely missed the link. Was that there originally??? I saw your reply soon after I posted and hit reply to reply to it, (and don't remember seeing a link) saying I had never heard of nexusmods and was going to check it out and right then was when the power went out here and stayed out for quite awhile (thunderstorms). When I got back, I guess I just skimmed right past yours since I thought I had read it.

Either way, I'm so sorry for missing your first, correct answer. My bad.

Haha don't worry, it was easy to miss afterall. It was just funny for me so I pointed it out. :)

Are the hookers included with the paid for trip?

It was just an example of the (imho good) changes.
Of course Fallout 1/2 don't have these life support features but they are totally different games anyway and afaik there are mods like this for it too.

http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/2761/

One of those changes:
"Slower experience, leveling, and pacing choices (configurable)"

The combat system and a lot other stuff has been optimized as well.

FWE's development is guided by two objectives. The first is to enhance the First-Person-Shooter (FPS) elements of the game (while still preserving non-FPS options). This includes making combat faster paced, exciting, and more player-skill based.
Could you comment on the enhancing and making the FPS elements more challenging??? If that's euphemism for requiring the preciseness of the mouse/keyboard combo, then that's a deal breaker for me. I'm guessing that's not the case though since overall the mod reads like it's goal is to make things more realistic, not less.

But that's how it reads because of the "faster" and "more player-skill based" (as opposed to more character skill based). Reads like it's made for mouse/keyboard players.

Yes, since they made an FPS out of Fallout anyway, they just made this move more consequent, but it's highly configurable.
There are lots of videos on Youtube about it.

Thank you very much!

Some of the changes make tweaks to the existing game elements such as Global Damage or how much Weapon Skill and Weapon Condition affect accuracy and damage. Others add wholly new elements such as a chance to "Dodge" attacks based on you unarmed skill, a hot key for throwing grenades, and the ability to Sprint or go into a Bullet Time mode. Both Sprinting and Bullet Time use Action Points so there are now perks that increase AP recharging. That's just a fraction of what's in the Combat Menu, there are also a number of other areas all with their own adjustable settings. If you are really curious the best thing to do is download the mod and read the manual that comes with it. Big mods like this come with full manuals that, sadly, rival the size of the actual game manual.
