That doesn't make him pro-town play, and according to the mafia wiki day one lynches are usually policy lynches due to play-style of those being lynched.

I am surprised that he is defending someone who has voted for him with no explanation, based on the extremely fallacious idea that because Zchinque played this way last time and was town then he must be town this time too. I don't know what to make of this.

You're finding pushing for some action so that we hopefully can avoid a pretty much random lynch, when we have a deadline in 4-5 days and a game full of lurkers anti-town? You'll have to explain that one for me...

People not voting are acting anti-town. By the current pace, if the day doesn't peter out in a no-lynch, we'll end up with a pretty much random wagon. If the target has a strong claim, there's no way we'll find a (decent) second target in time. No, a lurker lynch is more or less forced upon us by the mod and most of the players lurking. People don't seem to be interested in finding scum, they're only interested in not sticking their necks out. It's called a meta-read - which amusingly, nmillar earlier in the game said he wasn't too fond of. I don't think he's saying that it means I'm town, put that it doesn't indicate me being scum,

Aside,

This community at large really needs to get over the idea that active players who poke at other players are scummy. It breeds a culture of lurking and non-content, as people become even more afraid of getting in there.
We, at large, also need to realize that content does not magically appear, you need to help create it. Too many seem to be, some even explicitly admit to be, happy to sit back until "there is more content/things to discuss". That's a sure way not to get anything to discuss.

OK - seriously all I see so far is very weak theories and arguments as to why someone should be lynched - all a direct result of the Mod being a complete and utter dick (IMHO) and enforcing a deadline which expires only three days after New Year, we've only had 40 odd posts since xmas eve ffs - and half of those were folks saying Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Making people stick to that deadline is wrong. I personally have an extended family and lots going off over xmas so have had very little time for this - to say that makes me a lurker and want to lynch me for it is , frankly, bollox. I still hope for an extension and make another plea for one.

But should it not happen and we have to make some sort of move - I have to agree with the majority of others here, Zchinque seems very keen to question a lot of stuff without actually put forward his own opinions, and has further confused matters by voting for nmillar without giving any reason at all. I would dearly like to consider the matter further and try to get some reaction from zchinque about the whole matter, but as that appears to be not happening...

True, but he was somewhat involved before the xmas break. Rightly or wrongly I wrote that off to the holiday. Although it is several days after, I would figure he would have posted by now.

I voted you because prior to this post you have said nothing regarding thoughts on the game. Literally, nothing. Too me that reads a bit fishy. And now you arrive and sit firmly on the seemingly popular wagon, solidifying my confidence in my vote.

The Only reason I havent said a deal is because for me there isnt a deal to be said - like I have already iterated, I think we've barely moved out of RVS so theres not a lot to comment on. Plus the fact of the holidays and that I've not been around.

I dont anticipate being able to post much more between now and the third Jan (first day back at work), so I feel I have to vote someone. All things considered so far, Zchinque is the only person with any remote issues, so he gets the vote. You rather I didnt, and we slip to a no lynch?? Thats very scummy behaviour, right there.

I've already stated the case on Zchinque is very very flimsy at best, and I would happily unvote if there was an extension.

I'm against lynching any of the active players - don't want to punish them for being active. So, I am going to vote Robbeasy for trying to make one of our active players shut up.

As I've said earlier, the way active people get all the attention is really twisted.

With regard to those bemoaning the lack of activity / deadline:
I had expected activity level to drop due to the holiday season.
At least 10 of you told me that you would be active during this period, so....

Having said that, we may be forced to delay deadline as Jefe has asked to be replaced.

I was not calling your pushing for some action anti-town, the anti town reference is to your earlier actions. I was referring to the 3 posts in twelve days one of which IMHO derailed the game by focusing everyone's attention on that single issue and the next one being nothing more than a lot of taking issue with semantics and being generally hypocritical. I don't find these actions very pro-town at all. I also don't find your sudden push for a vote to be very pro-town especially in light of your perceived culpability in the game dragging it's heels.

I am fully aware that it is not your fault that the majority of other players (those that could be bothered, that is) decided to wait for your response to their questions, but on realising this was the case, you had the option to post sooner.

As for the question of Nmillar's "Meta-read" I was aware of what he was doing, for me there is too much meta-gaming going on here, it automatically disadvantages the newer player such as myself and CrazyBear by reducing the game to a collection of "well in game 4 this happened, but in game 6..." statements. I don't have the time or inclination to study every game on here to check the validity of the claims. That does not alter the fact that Nmillar's statement is, as you acknowledge, a non-argument.

I agree that there are too many people lurking, that this is also anti-town, and that the most likely outcome now is that a lurker will be lynched, but I think that you need to accept that you are partly to blame. I also agree that more players need to become more involved before the game becomes a collection of random lynches.

Having said all that I really don't know who to vote for. Do I vote for the person who I find most anti-town, or the person who I find most "lurky". This boils down to should I penalise someone for posting or another for not posting?

I think on the whole I would go with the not posting. Vote Robeasy.
