I'd like to see GOG offer game scores in FLAC; Medal of Honor Warchest has a really great selection, 'Sniper Town' being a standout track.

Well, I didn't get this seperate, but I pre-ordered Etrian Odyssey IV, which comes with a soundtrack CD (and artbook). I'm absolutely in love with this series' music.

Was going to get the Shatter soundtrack myself (i like the first two tracks), but i found i had it bundled with the game .Same with Awesomenauts. And a few others.




Just out of interest, where are the best places to find game soundtracks (especially jap game inspired ones) aside from bandcamp?

Tropico 1 OST. (the only one until today, cause I really really love all that Salsa and Merengueand caribbean themes)

American McGee's Alice Soundtrack.

And it's been one of my best musical purchases. I've often used it as "theme" music during special Halloween events at the arthouse I work at. Conversely I definitely would have bought the Arcanum soundtrack if there had been a CD album available, since that one gets a lot of rotation on my MP3 player.

I feel the same, I would only buy it again to get it in higher quality. For example the Civ4 music I listened to for ages until I finally bought the Edlinger and Halasz recordings of Beethobens 5th symphony on CD once I got a better sound system and noticed the mp3 lameness.

I've paid extra to make sure I get editions of games that include soundtracks (almost too many too mention) although of those the ones I've properly listened to multiple times are limited to the Shin Megami Tensei ones (The various Persona games, Strange Journey, Digital Devil Saga 2) and Jeremy Soule's Guild Wars soundtracks. The various SMT/Persona soundtrack discs and concert dvds are things I intend to hunt down and import at some point, but my apathy syndrome limits how much effort I put into such things :P

Hm - would you count the 'Late Goodbye' thing? It was a song in Max Payne 2 by a band called 'Poets of the Fall' and I liked it enough that I bought the album of theirs that had it on ('Signs of Life').

My sentiments exactly although I have to admit I am very tempted to buy the soundtracks for vanilla WoW, the taverns in WoW and The Burning Crusade expansion to WoW. I really like all that music a lot and it evokes memories of fun I've had in the game. Similarly, if soundtracks for EverQuest and the early expansions were released I would be tempted there too.
