This is the last bump I'll make.

Anyone is welcome to join the TUTORIAL game at any time! We have a couple ships that are just about to start firing!

You're always welcome to participate as little or as much as you want in any game, no registration required. :)

In the tutorial you wrote:

The RUI-01 Harbinger has initiated hurrying maneuvers. While active, her movement will now be d(4) + d(3) = d(7).
Sorry, but d(4) + d(3) is not d(7). If you roll two dice you have a different chance for each number than if rolling one. For example there is no possibility to get 1 as a result and only one of the 12 combinations gets a 7 as a result.

What you do is adding sides to one dice, but then please explain it like that. :-)

Yes, that is correct. I see what you mean, but I've thought about it a lot of ways and to me, this is still the best way to show it. If you can think of a better way to make it clear, definitely let me know because I'm all ears!

Perhaps instead of doing "+d(3)" for example, I could change the language to, "+3 to size of die"? That might make it clearer.

The only number that matters is the final number. In this case, d(7).

D(4) + D(3) is shown only because: 1) so you can know how I arrived at the final die number, and 2) so that I remember that d(3) is an "add on" and not part of the base roll. Otherwise, I would likely leave it there forever and keep adding on new numbers, so the ship would be moving d(3,235). LOL.

Forget about that "not bumping" nonsense, we could still use more players!! You can come and go as you please, no commitment.

Current game
So far, I feel like I'm learning a lot about the game.

As far as rule changes go, I'm considering:

-Movement shouldn't necessarily HAVE to be first. Ships should be allowed to decide whether they would like to move first or act first.

-I believe I might have underestimated the importance of crew. Think I should adjust the ship construction formula to make crew more "valuable."

-As Protoss suggested, I should make the rules clearer about the die. Should not leave people with the idea that multiple die will be rolled for one function (say, offense or movement).

To those of you who have signed up, please stay tuned to this thread. I'll give you some choices to make about your faction's special technologies.
