Telika: Ok i think i have reached the bottom of the bestselling list ? Not sure with that weird website. And there are some brilliant, brilliant titles down there. Why ?

Silent Hunter 2 and Call to Power are great. Gabe Knight 2 is supposedly a classic, so is Descent 3 (though not on my owned or even wished list as I personally prefer "open space" sims). And Sanitarium ? What's wrong with Sanitarium, it's a top notch adventure game !

Are these truly the least sold games on GOG, or is there something wrong with my page ?

rft183: I think you've got a little bit further to go. The free games should be at the bottom of the list.
Oh indeed. Thanks, I was freaking out a bit. It took me three attempts to refresh and get down to the free games without it to get stuck (but when I wrote my previous post there wasn't even a loading circle), and now the bottom list makes a bit more sense. So :

12) The shivah !?
11) Eschalon book 3 !!? ... For shame, people !

10) Covert Action. REALLY ? I hate you all.
9) Sherlock Holmes and the Silver Hearring (okay it is.. interesting but not the best of the frogwares series)
8) Octodad (hm)
7) Harvey's new eyes

a jump

6) Dark Fall 3 (okay I suppose these are mostly too new ?)
5) Consortium
4) Clarc
3) Journey of a roach

ooh a long jump

2) Risen 2 (why ? Risen 1 was supposedly a gothic return to gothic qality after gothic 3 wasn't it ?)
1) Strike suit zero (harsh, but deserved for reasons that are probably not the ones people ignored it for)

So there.

While we're at it, I also checked the least well rated games. Same problem as before, I first took a screenshot of what the site had presented me as the bottom of the list, but wasn't. But after a couple of reloads :

3) Omerta (okay this stylish tactical TBS is way underrated, guys)
2) Slender (why the hell do i have that ? was probably forced into my library through some package promo...)
1) Gothic 3 (yeah well i'm a Gothic completionist, so there you go)

I've got Ether One. This game should get more exposure, as it's really good; I'm currently midway through it. A sort of "softcore Myst" with newer graphics and free movement.

Most likely people are buying the full blown Gold Edition, so the non-Gold edition is probably not selling as many copies.

But I have the gold edition, which seems to be what marks that one as owned.
Ether One is my lowest (it's dead last), but haven't gotten to it yet. Other really low-ranked games I have (and like) are Democracy 3, Darkfall 3, and F-117A.
It's Scream 4x4. I haven't played it and I think it's at the bottom of the list because it's new.

The games above that are the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games... I haven't touched those either.

But the next one is Flatout 2 which I highly enjoyed. It's dead fun in MP, but less so in SP. I'm a sucker for old-style racing games... which is too bad because they are rarely made anymore. I really dislike the new kind: the latest Need for Speed games are a good example of that.

Flatout 2 which is a really fun game so I'm not sure why it hasn't sold well. I can understand more why Cannon Fodder isn't a bestseller but it is too good a game to be that far down the list.

After that the next game I own is Guild Gold, huh? This list must be from bizzaro land.

Played a bit of Cannon Fodder and I got that meh feel from it. It's a shame too as I was looking forward to playing it.

It's definitely one of those games where you kind of need to read the manual which, imo, is poor GUI design which tends to be more common with older games.

I keep procrastinating reading the manual and giving it another go as there are always other games I'm more excited about.

Well, despite all the variables that go into it, I was going to look anyway just out of curiosity, but I got tired of the "scroll down and load the next section" thing. Just didn't have the patience.

It's not too bad if you use the keyboard to scroll.

for a quick check just replace the number (p means page).
Lowest one is Full Spectrum Warrior Ten Hammers.

Lowest one I acrually played is Heretic Kingdoms: Inquisition. It has an unpolished feel to it, is a bit bland, but still fun because all items have hidden properties: they give yo attunements, a kind of spells, which get unlocked by usage of the items. Seems to be a short game though and you learn the atunements to fast to feel like an accomplishment. In a game like Baldur's Gate the wait for new levels is much longer, making the last game far more rewarding.

I dislike promoting my own things but since a lot of you share my dislike for the incrementally-loading, javascript-based catalogue perhaps you would like to support my call for removal of all javascript: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/site/remove_all_javascript

Anyway, my "worst selling" game is 1849. I found it "meh" but I will reserve a more thorough judgement until I try some of the newer patches.
I'm actually surprised to see windforge at almost the bottom of the list (11 lowest without counting the free games). I have it and I like it, it needs way more exposure. One of the reason that this game is so low is probably because it was full of bugs when it came out, but they patched most of them.
Of the games I own on GOG, the worst seller is Always Sometimes Monsters, but since that one is brand new, I'm giving it a few days.

Next up is Stick It to The Man!, which is an awesome game and I'm a bit baffled as to why it hasn't been selling a bit better. In my opinion, it's definitely better than some of the overhyped oldies high up on the list.
