Miaghstir: That's be nice.
GOG getting Steam cake?

Better cake than that.. REAL cake

michaelleung: I'm serious. You can now create a party just for Windows 7 and there will be cake and candy and strippers and beer and Mountain Dew! And the winners of the best parties will win a special version of Windows 7 AND a Party Pack!
People are actually having parties for operating systems now? What is this world coming to?

To be perfectly honest with you, if people are that naive to go ahead and do a company's advertising for them then let them get on with it and the rest of us can just laugh at their stupidity.
These are the same people who queue up outside Apple stores the day before a new iPhone is released, or buy the new Harry Potter book at midnight on its release day.
All these media events are designed to prey on weak-minded people that have to be the centre of attention in order to feel like worthwhile human beings - the first to own an iPhone, the first to read "Harry Potter & The Sequel Of Repetition", etc.
So if the likes of you and me feel no need to get involved in these kinds of things, then we can pat ourselves on the back for probably being fairly well-balanced people.

Kingoftherings: Firefox has launch parties too.

Miaghstir: AND they get cake, from the MS Explorer team no less.
Also vice versa earlier.

Catshade: This just gave me an idea: Let's make a GOG 1.0 launch party! XD

Shalgroth: Let there be GOG cake!

That's be nice.

I'm that old now that any cake will do.... as long as it comes with a nice cup of tea and my dressing gown and slippers! :-)

Blast, Slashdot stole my Tupperware analogy.
Hey, even Steve "The Chair" Ballmer is hosting one.

I look at it this way, it's an excuse to throw another party! Being in MS's back yard, I could say it's a Win7 party and people will just laugh as they show up. Why NOT throw a "windows 7" party. ^_^
