I was actually going to come in here and post "If you like Monster Hunter, it's worth it alone".

As a caveat though, I don't get Monster Hunter. It feels so wrong going around killing peaceful wild animals just because they are there, to harvest components. I felt like a total dickhead.

RayRay13000: I'll get one in the future (Bayonetta 2, X, next Legend of Zelda, next Smash Bros, and probably The Wonderful 101).

Just playing the wait and see game.
I don't get why everyone is making out that Bayonetta 2 is a big deal, when Bayonetta sucked royally. Why do people fall for this? It was like when Killzone 2 was coming out, everyone all of a sudden forgot the incredibly bad reviews the first one got.

Because the first one got actually really good reviews, almost everybody liked it, and it was a kick-ass game with one of the most refined fighting mechanics in this type of hack'n'slash games?
Bayonetta was an excellent game.

DaCostaBR: No one should buy it right now. The PS4 will be only $50 more expensive than the Wii U so they're going to cut the price, the question is for how long they'll continue being stubborn.

Shaolin_sKunk: ...

But I don't want a PS4...
That's not the point, the point is that with their price so close to each other the average consumer won't be shy about paying only $50 more for the more powerful console.

If Nintendo wants to stay competitive they need to cut the price on the Wii U. They say they won't do it, but that is just their usual stubbornness, after the PS4 is beating them on sales they're bound to come around.

Bottomline: the best time to buy the Wii U is after the PS4 is released.

In what world did Bayonetta suck royally? It was an amazing brawler, even if the PS3 port was rather crummy (framerate issues while the 360 one, which was the lead platform and the only one that Platinum dealt with directly ran at constant 60). Bayonetta 1 is an extremely solid, amazingly stylish brawler.
Hell, Platinum has not made a single bad game, if anything, one "eh" one, being Anarchy Reigns.
To be honest, the Wii U and the upcoming consoles are making me consider buying a second-hand Wii instead. There are a couple of games I'm interested in, and Wiis can be had for not a lot of money if you can find one being sold without a fat bundle of games you don't want. Maybe I'll just wait until a friend of mine gets bored with his and offer to give them a case of beer in part-exchange.

Ah, now I get what you mean. I wasn't planning on getting a Wii U for a long while anyway, my usual policy with consoles, so that certainly does work in my benefit.

Yeah, me too. I ended up buying my roommate's for $50. I still have all my GameCube games, about 30 of them, so I have an instant game collection for it.
Definitely buy one now more than ever with Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros, Pikmin and a new legend of zelda, now is the best time.

Killzone wasn't that bad, it was just overhyped too much as Sony's "halo-killer".
