Because I found out this game is coming next week:

http://www.joystiq.com/2013/03/12/monster-hunter-3-ultimate-trailer-shows-its-angry-antagonists/

I know what you are thinking," Buying a whole console for one game, when you don't know that console will be worth it in the long run."

But it's fucking Monster Hunter this game will probably consume so many hours of game time from me and this game is finally in HD so all the more reason to get it also Pikmin 3 is coming out soon and hopefully Nintendo Updates the Virtual Console selling Gamecube games and I love the Gamecube, second best Nintendo Console only beaten by SNES.

Sigh anyway if anyone owns or keeps track of the WiiU is the problems from the console's launch fixed right now because I still remember that 5 gig patch at launch that if you interuppted it, it will brick the console.

Bump
Although game choice is still a bit poor at present, I don't regret getting mine. Super Mario Bros. U gets a lot of playtime in our household, I've really been enjoying Zombi U, and we've been gorging ourselves on the Wii's huge back catalogue in the meantime.

Whether you should get a Wii U now is partly a matter of whether you already had/have a Wii.

If you didn't, you can use it as a Wii - if only for the Mario, Zelda, Metroid games, Xenoblade Chronicles and The Last Story.

If you already have a Wii, you should maybe wait a while. By the time the good games come, Monster Hunter 3 will be a bit cheaper.

Mind you, Nintendo are bringing out a Wind Waker HD rerelease later in the year, and new Mario and Zelda games are all but guaranteed.

By the way how are those 2 games right now, especially The Last Story which ironicly from its name is made from the guy that created Final Fantasy and the Music from Nobuo Uematsu.

Also did they fixed the 5 gig launch patch problem?
Does is come with Postal 2? :P

In short? Awesome story, great gameplay, iffy combat.

It was actually 2GB, but downloaded very, very slowly. And yes, the problem is fixed. All current Wii Us sold have the patch pre-installed.

And the game's music? show me a vid with the best music, because I don't know which to pick :P
I am planning to get one, but so far the lineup is a bit underwhelming. Will get one this year though.

Mainly because of things like SMT/Fire Emblem.
I'll get one in the future (Bayonetta 2, X, next Legend of Zelda, next Smash Bros, and probably The Wonderful 101).

Just playing the wait and see game.
My duaghter has one, she loves it. But like other have mentioned they need to add more titles to make the Wii U a must buy rather than a wait and see. Nintendo, imo needs a new IP, I've always loved the Mario series, but rehashing old titles is imo getting really stale.
Unless you're really going to get a guaranteed bunch of play time out of Monster Hunter 3, I would hold off. Wait for a price drop and more games? Although, I have to say, while ZombiU is only kind of good single player gaming, the multiplayer with one survivor and one tablet zombie master is kind of awesome to try for a second. Still not worth the money though.
Hold of and give NOJ some tome to figure out what they're doing, because I certainly cannot.

I'd wait for September, but that's because I'm a horrible gamer who simply wants Wind Waker HD since Nintendo more or less stated, "screw the Virtual Console, emulation isn't perfect".

So no Gamecube virtual console?

Anyway I decide to get it when Pikmin 3 is out so I have 2 games to dedicate time to.
I just sold my Wii U, and i prob buy a new Wii U next year :)

All things considered, it pains me to see how they did roll out the virtual console on Wii-U. At least with the Wii, it was understandable that there were major system limitations that prevented the Wii Virtual Console from flourishing, but I really don't see why they chose to "trial" the virtual console and celebrate 30 years of Famicom with a weekly drip, but I feel that it is becoming fairly clear that Nintendo is at least one generation out of touch.

Really, do they not have the infrastructure to do one game from each Famicom a day for 30 days with the final result of a library that's fairly filled at 60 total titles? It'd be a great way to kick off such a celebration.

I really want to buy the Wii-U and renew the old flames I had for Nintendo, but they're making it quite hard to even consider returning to their house, with the utter lack of online infrastructure and Miyamoto implying heavily in an interview that basically Nintendo felt that until recently, a robust online experience wasn't possible until recently.

Oh well. At least they're simply out of touch, unlike companies in the west who not only are actively connected, but actively screwing consumers.
