timppu: If you are looking for a digital download of RoL, I don't think it is re-released as such. So at the moment you'd have to hunt down for some back catalog or second-hand (Ebay).

IIRC, there might have been rumors of either it and/or RoN appear on Steam, but no idea. And I would find it highly irritating if they re-released up-to-date RoL on some digital service, but still didn't offer an official offline patch for the original retail version.

I am loving Rise of Nations, that was a good purchase

I can see quite a few Rise of Legends on ebay, all opened and all played, my only concern is with the key and activation, but being an old game I dare say that wont matter I will still be able to play local as you said the servers are now down

Rise of nations is a solid game and well worth playing. That being said, Rise of legends is utterly amazing - it plays great, aesthetics are amazing, and the story-based campaign is fairly solid, altho fat from perfect. Shame it's so hard to get.

Weird - could not get the 2.5 patch to work

Read the instructions
Removed Read Only Attribute
Coped files to patches
ran the patch_manual

It wont patch as it does not recognise the command CODE, and I can understand that as there is no CODE.exe anywhere in the folders

I continue to look for the 2.5 patch that works

Yep - checked my version number and it is pre 2.5

Thanks to all who tried to help with this thread

P.S. its the Uk version as per the back and it wont work via DOS either

I was stupid and did not turn of UAC

All sorted - time to play

The patch V2.5 was for Rise Of Legends.

I managed to get an original version on ebay for a very good price, but was not patched

Had major issues patching it

Then I turned of UAC and bang - all was ok

So now I have Rise of Nations Gold and Rise of Legends

And I am enjoying both of them at the moment - thanks to all who commented
