Just keep the original "style" and upgrade the resolution. :\

But what is the style? How much of the way it looks is down to the limitations and how much is down to intentions? It could be said to have a rather comic book look to it. But is that down to the limited colour palette and the fact that they had to make the most of every pixel, or is it intentional?

If you simply increase the resolution then what's going to happen is that you're going to have a lot of bland, boxy-looking levels.

I really like to use this example. I know opinions are going to vary, but I personally prefer one on the left.

Considering how a lot of Blood-related remakes/ports/etc. have ended up, I'm quite sceptical about this. I'm not sure why he wouldn't just release the source code away to folks like the eDuke32 people, or Jonathan Fowler (if he's even still around).

Oh well - if he really does have the source code and if he really does deliver, I'd be more than happy to even through some money his way. But for now, I'm going to reserve judgement until we see some real progress.

Now that's exactly what I'm talking about. It's too literal and winds up looking very comic book as a result. The one in your other post looked more like a reinterpretation, which is what would be required with Blood.

All Blood related stuff had a hard time mainly due to the lack of source code. This however is coming from a guy who voiced Tchernobog ;).
Personally I'd be happy with simply a well running Windows version with texture filtering and proper mouse controls.
