Starkrun: OK so stupid question, is the ram 100% compatible?

here is a link to a Motherboard scanner to tell you what is supported: http://www.crucial.com/systemscanner/ put in your original 2gb stick run this and make sure what you bought is supported by your mobo.
I have no idea, I hope so. I just picked up laptop memory DDR3. Put in the old RAM, running your scan.

Edit: I ran the scan, I don't think the memory I got is compatible. This sucks because I only got the RAM while I was out for the day and I have no idea when I'll be able to get back.

Try running with just the new stick and do some tasks that will use ram like gaming or what not and see if it blue screens again.

If not put both sticks in the opposite slots they are now and try again.

I was thinking that it could be that. Next time get the same type of memory as the original one you had in your laptop (DDR2 / DDR3), speed (800 MHz / 1333 MHz / 1600 MHz...) and voltage (1.5V / 1.8V...).

I guess. Oh well. Hope I can return it.

Edit: at least it wasn't a total loss. My new mouse seems to be working.
