The biggest mystery is whether I will be able to pull this give away off XD

Kairo is a first-person puzzle game where you wake up in a strange, empty mechanical world filled with endless voids and alien symbols. To progress you have to get the ancient machinery running again as you walk though otherworldly rooms and vistas.
Kairo is a game about atmosphere. The puzzles are very simple but it has a gorgeous art style and a strong theme. It looks like a more polished Minecraft, there are lots of blocks in this game.

And I've got two spare copies in my Steam inventory for anyone who wants them.
In order to inter you must;
1 Have a Steam account (otherwise I can give it to you).
2 Say "I'm in"
3 Name a game that spooked you (no matter how little) that really shouldn't have. For instance; I was more legitimately terrified by the snow level in Medal of Honour 2 than the water level in Amnesia. I've never felt so alone and exposed as when marching through a white, cover-free field with almost no ammo left.

No minimum rep is required. The winners will be picked on Sunday (Assuming anyone enters). I'll have to PM you to ask the name of your Steam account so I can sent it to you.
This is my first ever giveaway and I'm a little nervous about it. Wish me luck =)
Not in, but just wanted to comment that it's a cool game. I only had to look at a walkthrough in 1 place, so it's not one of those games where you just sit and scratch you head. The atmosphere of the whole thing, and the scale of the environments is very cool.

EDIT: I'm easily spooked in games, so much so that it deters me from playing or finishing them. I stopped in HL2 when the brain eater things got launched in and started attacking me. I panic, quit the game, and never went back... Maybe one day I'll take it back up again.

I already have it, and I love it. It's one of my favorite puzzle games of all time. Obviously not in, but many thanks Johnmourby for the giveaway of a great game (REP+), and good luck to all who enters ^_^

By the way, here is a good guide in case someone is stuck somewhere... (:P)

I wish you luck in returning to Half-life 2. But maybe you should know that 3 hours in it quite suddenly turns into a horror game for and hour when you visit an abandoned mining town. Then it goes back to being an action game ^^
Not in, but thanks.
Not in but +1 for the giveaway.
Not in but thanks for the giveaway!
Curiously, I happened to stumble upon this game just days ago (this and Antichamber). I am certainly a fan of mystery games, so I would like to say "I'm in" for this giveaway! As for point #3... well, I don't know if this qualifies (you decide), but I remember I felt a spooky, eerie atmosphere when playing some old C64 games. Impossible Mission, for example: the echo of your footsteps in corridors... the feeling of solitude, of fighting alone against overwhelming odds... or that weird game, Strangeloop. Or even the classic platform, Manic Miner. They weren't certainly horror games, strictly speaking. I bet I am not the only one.

It's nice to see someone who wants to be part of this giveaway ;)

That anecdote about the old commodore game is very good indeed. It really doesn't take much to make those old sprite games creepy at all. Just loose the bouncy music and they can become very lonely experiences.
I'm in, please, and thank you~ :D

A game that spooked me and shouldn't have? Hmm... That's a tough question! Maybe in Below the Root (C64), but then, sometimes strangers DID kidnap you, so I think that was a legitimate reason ;p
I'm in, thanks. :)

A game that spooked me that really shouldn't have.. I think Outlast, I felt really scare and felt so alone when haunted by some crazy guys. I was insane, I would never ever to finish the game. :D
I'm in for cose_vecchie if it's possible.

I was spooked by Nocturne, not because of the monsters or the atmosphera, but because the Stranger was unable to fall without to die. If he fell more than 3 meters (from a stair or a little rock, for example), he died. Very pitiful for someone who is a monster slayer ! So I was more afraid to jump from a too high position than to fight monsters !

Well Outlast being a horror game and having you hunted by insane people it sound it 's was giving it's all to scare you. I was thinking something closer to The flood in Halo, a horror element in a non-horror game. Or the drowning music in the Sonic games, which ended up being far more frightening than the devs probably meant it. Or in my case getting freaked out by the empty spaceship with no visible exit near the end of Unreal (Another action game).
Not in, but thanks for your generosity, Johnmourby!

About your question, I fondly recall the Vietcong PC game. Each time you were wound, a certain amount of your health bar would be unrecoverable using medikits, so when my health was low enough because of previous encounters with the enemy, I was overly cautious while threading the jungle, to the point to be almost spooked of every bush which could hide an enemy or a booby-trap. :D

The game using checkpoints instead of a "save where you want" system, IIRC, added to the tension. ;)

Nice memories there. :)

That a pretty cool story, thanks for sharing. I've thought about trying Vietcong as FPS games are my thing, but with the expectation of Serious Sam I've never found one that was both very hard and fun to play. So you can see why I hesitant to pick it up.
