langurmonkey: I tried adjusting mouse sensitivity, resolution etc
You know, I wasn't there, next to you, when you did that, so, pretty please, what happened? Did the mouse continue acting in the exact same way, did something, anything, change. WHAT?
No one will be able, nor willing, to help you if you're being cryptic.

Nothing changed. I still have this problem.
Which mouse? Are you using its software?

With my logitech G500 I have to turn off Windows mouse settings and also acceleration for a lot of older games, or even modern ones that have their acceleration. It ends up crazy if not. Also a lot of times a desktop sensitivity does not match a game, which is why they have their own sensitivity settings.

If you use a high DPI then a lot of games are not made for that. Generally a DPI of around 1200 is normal, only use higher ones if your mouse can toggle on the fly.

My mouse didn't come with any software. I'm using an Inland 3D Optical Mouse. Yeah, I need to get myself a better mouse. LOL.

More or less, high DPI settings are popular for elite gamers because they magnify the movement of the cursor on screen. Since a monitor has a fixed number of pixles, the DPI should be set to something that the user can manage.

High DPI can lead to improvements in gameplay for serious players, but are usually overkill for the rest of us. I'm not going to lose a game because I have to move my mouse an extra inch. I don't generally play with anybody that cut throat.
