When I'm at the desktop my mouse is fine but when I'm playing a game, the sensitivity of my mouse is way too much. What is going on and how can I fix this? Any help will be very much appreciated.

Is it any game, or have you only experienced it with one in particular?

Have you checked your options in-game and tried adjusting mouse sensitivity or resolution?
What kind of mouse is it? Does it come with settings software? Has this happened before or is it a recent development? Does it happen with another mouse?

Almost all games. Yes and yes.

It is a Inland mouse. It didn't come with settings software. This is not a recent development. I only have this mouse.

Maybe games that use DOSBox?

No, mostly Steam games.
In some older games, or games in lower resolution (640x480 and below) the speed of the cursor seems faster because of the "space" in which the cursor is moving is smaller than the resolution of the desktop. Try setting the sensitivity of the mouse from the in-game settings.

Steam - Settings - In-Game tab - untick that "Enable Steam Community In-Game" option...
But It's only a try...

They mean, I believe, that they've fiddled with both resolution and mouse sensitivity.

Any further information you can give us about your computer/setup/games, OP? Not that much to go on right now.
