I'm having a bucketload of trouble getting Planescape Torment to load and run properly with the widescreen mod.
I've followed the tutorial on here and it seemed to work perfectly except the scrolling went nuts and kept moving at top speed to the upper left. I pulled out the joypad I had plugged in but that didn't seem to help so I give the system a reboot. Loading up PST now I'm greeted with:
"An assertion failed in F:\Torment\source\chitin\ChDimm.cpp at line number 787" (on the system I'm using now F is not my CD drive and on my laptop I don't even HAVE an F drive but have the same error)
When I was playing this on vista some time ago using just the widescreen mod, the game ran pretty well (though with broken spell graphics and a small interface) but crashed every time I quit. Never did figure out why but I have a suspicion that this error might be caused by the same thing.
I'm discounting the usual drivers / compatibility mode / direct X problems since aside from the input issue it seemed to run flawlessly the first time (the initial dialogue with Morte was exactly as it should be)
Anyone managed to beat this exact issue? 5 shiny rep points up for grabs
