I'll probably pick one up for wifi usage only. I don't need cell service.

Then again, I'm thinking HTC Hero but I DON'T KNOW.
But Google's a software/web services/ad company. What are they doing selling hardware? Like many people I hang around with (drug dealers and pimps and arsonists) it seems that Apple sells a lot of phones because well it's got a little Apple on the back of the thing. Does Google really have that "elegance", or that amount of hype surrounding it? Not really.

HTC is manufacturing the Google Phone.

Sielle: Take it from someone that has an iPhone... the games look neat but 99% of them handle horribly. The touchscreen has too many issues for games that aren't turn based (Something like peggle works because you don't have to rush at all, you can take as much time as you want lining up the shot), and don't even get me started on the games that try to use the accelerometer. If someone released a case for the iPhone that added physical buttons and a D-Pad then it'd be a worthwhile portable game system (assuming it was supported by the software). But, until that point it'll never work as a game system.

Certain game styles don't work on the device but I don't think that's a reason to say it's not a valid gaming platform. After all, the Wii is clearly a games system but some game types don't work so well on it. The touch screen is a limitation and no doubt there's a wealth of utter turd games on it but I think that's because there's so much development happening for it.

The Wii can utilize the Gamecube controllers and the Classic Controllers. The ONLY form of input on the iPhone is the touch screen. In fact speaking of the iPhone it even fails as a phone (constant dropped calls). It has been one of the biggest marketing successes ever though. I have to give it that.

only for classic games can it use that. you'll try to plug it in for other games and it'll be all "unplug that shit, idiot."

Yea I did hear something about having to use the wiimote on the new SMB. Odd that they supported the other controllers for the new super smash and kart yet didn't for the platformer. Odd to say the least. Then again the physical buttons on the wiimote makes it TONS better than the iPhone's touch screen.
