No problem. Playing the game so far the only speech i have come across is in the 2 demos and the occasional character noises when fighting.

JacobNZ: Yes but I was more asking your guys opinion on why you buy some of the older obviously EXTREMELY BADLY dated games if you know what i mean >_>;

I lol'd at your brilliant comment.
I played the sh** out of 4/5 (World of Xeen). It's part of my childhood. Plus: I enjoyed 3 and 6 as well.
Thanks!
I agree with the dos versions it would be very difficult, but M&M6 is a windows executable and the audio has been converted to MP3.
I thought GOG altered a lot of the windows based games to get them to work on windows XP/Vista (i know the feeble files didn't work in XP as i have the disc version), as well as having to remove any nasty copy protections from the software, Earth 2160 was one they had to work hard on.

Glad this finally made it out! For me though, it will have to live on my wishlist for the next several months instead of my shelf as the money (job) just isn't there for it. Still....one day...especially for that fanmade MMX...

Truly one of the finest entries in GOG's catalogue, and one of the best values for the money. THANK YOU.
I already own the entire series except for 1 and 2, but I believe I'll buy this to complete my collection - and to support the release of soul-shatteringly awesome classic RPGs.
excellent! A purchase that should go well down with the Interplay promo :D
Hopefully, you guys get the talkie versions of MM4/MM5. Otherwise, you'd be missing out on some fairly decent voice acting. My favorite spoken line in the game is:
SPOILER ALERT
You haven't brought any energy discs yet, eh, mmm? Hmm, perhaps you fail to grasp the urgency of your mission... ALAMAR IS GOING TO DESTROY XEEN! Now get back out there and save the world.
/END SPOILER ALERT
Ah... good times.
PRAYER ANSWERED! GOG.com has now officially became my favorite website on the net, next to google.com
Ive been waiting for a good solid collection for years that works in windows without any futzing with anything. With the service from gog and knowledge that these will work flawlessly, how can this be passed up!
Edit: Wait a tick there are EXTRAS!?
m&m I-VI manuals
m&m VI reference card
m&m I-VI maps
m&m IV soundtrack
m&m VI soundtrack
m&m I-V cluebooks

JacobNZ: Contimplated the purchase but could not bring myself to buying, way to old way to dated. Hopefully the newer versions with better graphics and less stgnant gameplay are released.

Which newer versions would that be? VII and VIII have basically the same graphics engine as VI, and IX (the one with the best graphics engine) is generally considered to be the worst.
----
That said, I could never get into VI... the idea of having a FPS view for a whole party kind of weirded me out. It worked in the older games, where you were in a dungeon and couldn't look around.... but it felt like there were 4 people in one head!!! :-o
Does anyone with some time on their hands want to see if Mok's patch works with this version of the game? Mostly it's an XP compatibility patch, which of course won't be needed, but it does fix some annoying bugs, like the fact that plate mastery doesn't do anything...
I'll check it out later myself, if no one has done so by then.

JacobNZ: Quick question, do you guys buy every game released just because its gog? I mean how can you play suchjaded graphics with basic and slow gameplay?
avatar
lowyhong: Because they're more fun than 90% of the trash released on today's markets? IMO btw
Of course if your idea of fun is dictated by cool graphics, by all means invest in COD6 or whatever.

Well said. Although i would have put 95%.

I can't.
That's why I play Might & Magic instead.
