kalirion: Have you played Indigo Prophecy or Hard Rain? That might be right up your alley (unless the "Simon Says" quicktime events put you off.)

Yes, I've tried them. They are more or less event games, feel very scripted, interesting edition to the genre though.
Awesome addition! Just awesome! :D

fix-cz: Also +1 for multilingual release - that's cool (can we have Original War in Czech please? ;)

Sid311: You don't really want Original War in Czech. The voice acting is utterly, utterly hideous.

It's a lie!
Sovětší vědci jsou připraveni šlápnout na plyn, is totaly awesome!
Sweet @ Syberia coming here.
Never heard of this game before, but looks like something I'd enjoy. I've also been thinking of going on an adventure game binge (since I seem to lack the will to fully jump into an RPG), so I might kick that off this weekend with Syberia.
This is just, a truly captivating game, right here. There really isn't much else to say about it, get it, you will enjoy it in every way.

KEgstedt: I always got the sense that Syberia is pretty much the archetypal "pre-Adventure Game Renaissance" adventure game (that is, before the indie revival of the genre and the Telltale revolution), with boring environments and obscure, Mystifiedly mechanical puzzles.
That said, a future promo featuring the entire series for 10-15$ might still be something to look forward to...

Uh, no, not even close, it's very story based and has perfectly logical puzzles.

Except for the bottle in Chapter 2 that Kate refuses to pick up even when you know you need it, until you find an obscure item in an obscure place that no one gave you a clue you needed.
never did play syberia but reading your comments i'm begining to reevaluate my decision to pass this one!
Maybe the Myst comparison is a bit off (though I would have imagined that the strong mechanical theme of the story - as evidenced in the demo I played when the game was first released - would lend itself perfectly to some Myst-like puzzles). Still, the unmistakable impression I get from watching trailers and gameplay clips is that there's something a bit stilted and insular about the series' approach to adventure game design which just doesn't compare very favorably with the emerging new generation of adventure games (everything from quirky indie titles like Emerald City Confidential to endearingly pretentious heavy-weights like Heavy Rain).

Well if you mean, it seems to be in the more traditional point and click adventure game style, which there's nothing wrong with, that would be an emphatic yes.
GREAT going guys....I posted just a short time back suggesting this game be added. I used to play it for HOURS all 420'd out and now I can play it from a different prospective....NOT 420'd. LMAO

GOG.com: you can experience Syberia's enthralling story in English, French, German, Russian and Spanish!

Hello. Well, this is great. I've heard of this game before but it was now nowhere to be found.
I'm especially happy to see this game released in several languages. French is my natural language, and even thought i can understand english rather easily when i read it, it's a bit harder when i hear it. I don't care playing english games when it's RTS, action or Hack and Slash, but for games with more story, i really prefer a French version. The absence of French version is what prevented me from buying "The Longest Journey".
I really hope you'll release more games in several languages in the future, and maybe get additional languages for games already in your catalogue.
Thanks for bringing those older games back to the market.
Got a combo of Syberia I and II in the bargain bin at Circuit City a couple of years ago for my niece. She loved it and played straight through both games. I enjoyed it as well . . . looking forward to hearing her recount all that was happening in that world or watching as she played.
The only negative, IMHO, was the amount of time spent clicking from screen to screen . . . just walking . . . to get somewhere. You might have to click thru several previous screens, several times, to complete a quest. There might be a fast travel mechanism that I missed . . . =)
