FantasyNightmare: I'm very interested if Wildman has SupCom's scale, but nothing in the videos tells me about what scale they're going for.
It seems like a rather straightforward ARPG/dungeon crawler where you can attack enemy strongholds RTS style.
Thought this'd be a true RTS...oh well
It seems that they won't be able to reach their goal unfortunately. I wonder if they will still continue to produce the game even without the kickstarter pledges.
Chris Taylor , Chris Taylor ? . Hmm. Oh , yeah : The guy with the big ego .
The Dreamfall one going up to $400,000 in a day shows how much Wildman just did not connect with people.

Nah, it seems this is the end of the company. They had to lay off staff already and sold their IPs.

Chris Taylor talked about some of the stuff on Matt Chat: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5zJdMRKBbLE

Mrstarker: The guy certainly seems passionate and some of the ideas sound pretty interesting and novel. Also, the update videos are pretty entertaining and the modding platform they plan to release looks really good. Overall, it has a stronger pitch than many other projects that I've seen. It's really a shame that it's dead in the water.
Yep. They pretty much hit every mark that people claim they need to see to contribute to a Kickstarter. Turns out they missed out on the biggest one : Nostalgia. If it isn't a remake of something old, people aren't throwing millions at it. (Or the board game version, which basically boils down to 'Throw more shit in the box!')

And can you really fault people for that? Who wouldn't want a Tim Shafer adventure game or an isometric Fallout 3 or a Baldur's Gate 3?

Nostalgia is a big part but games like Dead State and that one from the old Iron Lore guys still succeeded. Maybe it takes nostalgia to get over a certain amount and close to a million.

Still I honestly think in the end Wildman just didn't look very good, period.
Wildman simply didn't look that fun to me. It didn't have...energy?

No I can't. But I also find it amusing how many of the likely backers of rehash after rehash are likely to be the same ones constantly complaining about 'too many game sequels' and 'we need new stuff' and 'stupid Call of Duty idiots buying the same thing over and over'.

Well, it's not like we get an isometric Fallout or an infinity engine game every year.

Imagine that there was an ice cream flavour that you really liked and for some reason shops stop selling it. 20 years later you walk into a store and discover that it's on sale again. Now what are you more likely to buy, the flavour you really liked or a new flavour? Sure, some people would try something new, but most would go for the old one.

StingingVelvet: Hmmmmmm...
Sounds really decent of the dude to be honest like that. With that said, I'm guessing it's too little too late, won't be backing this one as those folks appear screwed. As they're screwed with severance, here's to all of them spending some time with their loved ones and finding new gigs soon!

I don't know if the ones who stayed on for the Kickstarter get anything, but at least they knew the risks. I think it may be for the best, as large scale single player RTS seems to be going the way of the dodo as well.
I think one of the main issues of Wildman was, that after the Kickstarter failed to make a mint during the first day, which obvously was something Taylor was betting at, it just looked like he gave up. Every interview he did after that was very defeatits. He talked then like he already lost the game and lost the faith and many people were left with that idea. The way I see it Taylor kind of screwed himself here.
