I just built my Core i7 system last night with 3gb triple channel DDR3 ram, and I threw my already owned GeForce 260's in there in SLI. ARMA II is, in a word, beautiful. Perfectly flowing with maxed graphics (save for distance, thats set at just over 3000 for playability). I'm not really looking forward to OFP2 since BIS isn't working on it. But I'm just fine with ARMA II.
Finally got through the mission where you have to catch Bardak or whatever he's called. I love the fact that you don't really get your hand held and have to hunt for info on your own, it's just like the real military, so I don't have to rejoin it :D
That being said, the real fun in ARMA II is in the multiplayer. Find a coop server and you'll be there for hours and have lots of stories, some good, some funny, some weird. Example:
I was waiting for an extract after we had just wiped out an enemy village. Me and the team lead were waiting by a house in front of a few trees. All of a sudden we both hear a loud engine sound, but different than a helo and way too fast. We looked in the direction of it and saw an A-10 flying towards us at a very high rate of speed and way too close to the ground. The pilot hit the ground about 200-300 meters in front of us and his planes wreckage skidded accross the ground until it hit a tree 75-100 meters in front of us, leaving a burning, dirty trail from the impact site to the landing (Yes, if you crash something and skid it, you will have an impact trail). Me and the team lead just looked at each other, as if to say "WTF was that?". One of the funnier bits that happened to me.
