Whenever you translate something, you loose a part of it. Puns, double entendres, subtle links to (then) current and local events. [As an example, try to get the following into your language, and keep the joke: "Matter, Anti-Matter and Doesn't-Matter"]
Some translations manage to be "good enough", but there just isn't such a thing as a "good translation". That's why I always prefer to watch/read/play any movie/book/game I get my hands on in its original language, and sometimes even learn it, if I don't already know it.
And really, if someone has trouble with English nowadays, and is online... Tough luck. *shrugs*
(Also: German translations ALWAYS suck in major ways.)
