Worth 6€
Got it for $35 and it was worth even that much :-P
I loved that game, seriously. Story was nicely told thou not too original, gravity stuff was awesome, weapons were very interesting, even thou they worked pretty much in the same way as weapons in other shooters, and spirit walk was fun :D Oh, and there was no frustration involved in the game :D
Prey is a great game... the hype was still larger than the game itself, I think.
It's a great game in its own right. But after Portal, it's all too painfully obvious they missed some real opportunities with the portals & gravity features. Especially when you factor in spirit walking. It could have been like an FPS Braid with portals. ...or something.
Still, as a pure FPS, I had a blast playing it. I'd certainly look forward to a sequel if one was announced. Although it's hard to see how that would work, given the ending.

Krankor: Prey was great.
I got it for the 360 and finished it some time ago, though there are a lot of achievements points still waiting to be earnt (if you are into that sort of thing).
I may just dust it off and look again. :)

Aliasalpha: Ugh, so many multiplayer achievements and kill achievements split between game modes? Yuck

Yuck is an apt description.
Up untill about a year ago I was obsessed by gamer points/achievements.
I think I reached 35,000 and then realised, hangon... I'm not enjoying gaming anymore.
I don't think they are a bad thing, so long as you just see them as a bit of fun, but sadly (like me) I let them dictate how I played (get 1000 melee kills whilst in pants between 2:00am and 3:00am on every third Wednesday). Yer, that's sad.
I stopped a long time ago... :)
i think it was a good game but with no replay value.
i loved the crabs where you have to pull the legs and throw to the nmy's.

I've always thought that the best use of achievements is to encourage players to actually experience all the cool things the devs put in. Using Gears 2 as an example, the good MP ones are the 'play a match on every map' so you see the maps, 'win a match on every map' so you're encouraged to keep playing but not to a stupid extent, the things like the unique executions and things of that nature. Party Like Its 1999 is one of those ones that goes a bit too far, I got it but only because of playing Horde with my mates. Seriously 2.0 is just stupid, I've been playing the game pretty regularly since it came out and even with campaign and horde kills counting, I'm not even a quarter of the way there
Gears 1 was an achievement nightmare though. Every online one was only an option in ranked matches that can stop being ranked the second a 3 people disconnect I've got 150/100 chainsaw kills and haven't got the damned achievement because the shitty pings tend to make people drop and anything I did in a match stopped counting. 'Seriously' was another stupid one there, 10000 kills in those same failure prone ranked matches...
Plenty of good ones out there though, if it wasn't for the online ones, the flag collecting crap from assassin's creed would be the worst, endless easter egg hunts that don't even DO anything when you get them all...
Yea I was an achievement addict last year too. 41000 gamerscore :o

It wasn't after portal... it was like 2 years before it.

I got this game for £5, it was a great game until the final boss. I don't know what it is with bosses but I tend to find most of them very disapointing when I get to them eventually. Quake4 was the same deal.
I used to play the multiplayer as well but there was only ever like 30-40 people on that at any given time, it died off fairly quickly as well. Which is a real shame because the gravity in that game made for some really intresting gun fights.
I dont know but this somehow felt a little different from the generic shooters I've already gotten used to. This had those little special moments (Dont fear the reaper..nuff said) that kept me going till the end and an amazing athmosphere. Also an amazing soundtrack. I have to agree about the no replay value though.

Well there was plenty of replay value for the achievement whores :P beat it once then beat it again on the unlocked difficulty.

ovoon: The song Barracuda was stuck in my head the week before I played it and when I started it up, that song was everywhere :P

That's a really weird placement for that song..
Got it for $5 on Gamersgate one weekend and quite enjoyed it. Some VERY unique weapons, especially those...for lack of a better term...crab grenades. :)

dunno if this is still a working title but i hope so.
I played it about a year ago and really liked it. The one thing that got to me was the scene with the kids towards the beginning of the game.
Aside from that, I really enjoyed it.
