Huinehtar: Too many fear of piracy (look at the EA new stance for their new franchises without offline mode and with F2P and microtransactions). It's a paranoid stance.
You mean this quote by Moore? I do hope that the "news" site have also posted the clarification, but I doubt it.

jjsimp: Are you talking new as in recent games, because they just released Wing Commander Academy. And they also released a recent game, Shelter, what ever that is. Or maybe, you are just talking new or recent that you want to play.
Shelter is an indie game, pretty sure OP means new AAA releases.

And I see you posted about Dragon Commander. I don't think most see that as an AAA game either, I could be wrong I guess.

At first I thought you were saying WCAcademy is recent, and I was thinking how the hell is 1993 recent? XD

Huinehtar: New mid-sized games will release here, Wasteland 2, Project Eternity, Torment Tides of Numenera, Ages of Wonder 3, Divinity Original Sin...
In my mind these are AAA games, but then I don't purchase anything that's not released here. So, to hell with any developers that want my money and aren't distributing their game to the major gaming sites.

grinninglich: My hopes was high when Ubisoft bring AC1 and HOMM5 here DRM-Free. Then... Then nothing happened. Even we couldn't see FF7, new Hitman games, AC other than AC1.

Do you think GOG will remain mostly for old games, indie titles and very few new games? It seems so. The companies will never abondan DRM, region pricing.

So my suggesting if you are holding to buy some games in the hope of they will come to GOG, DON'T. Just buy them from Gamersgate, Amazon, Steam or whatever.
Odd, you ask something in the second paragraph, and next you already make a statement that no one should expect new games to come to GOG. Sounds almost as if you don't want people to want to buy new games from GOG?

Yeah maybe GOG has to work harder on the semi-new AAA games to get the Steamworks DRM, Tages, crap etc. out of them, but sometimes they've been able to do that. So as long as they can do it at least occasionally, GREAT! I was very happy to see e.g. the Alan Wake games and the Riddick game here, without DRM.

I'm not expecting brand-new Ubisoft, EA and Activision AAA titles to appear here, at least not right away. I hope GOG will still work on to get them here _eventually_.

Plenty of fish in the sea. If they eventually come to GOG, great, if not, then I have this ridiculous backlog here...

Nirth: Yes but you forget that new games become old so eventually they will arrive. The problem is the rise of online only systems and focus on "everything shall be connected!" mentality.
It's not sure if they will eventually arrive. Maybe they go the fate of LucasArts and disappear forever. Another problem additionally to the ones you mentioned is also to convince publishers to let GOG sell their games without DRM. Surely MMORPG will never come to GOG, but all the other good games which aren't here, the reason must be that the publishers don't want that.

Non online games I miss in particular: Mass Effect series, GTA series, Elder Scrolls series, KotoR series, Civilization series, all stardock, all paradox... and many, many more. They will for sure become old or are already quite old, but they might never come to GOG at all.

That reminds me I got to find a No-CD crack for Civ4. As I am officially done with my Steam version. Not being able to play the game without an internet connection is really annoying. And yes I put it in offline mode. Hopefully, my CD's will still run and I am able to install the game on Windows 7.

nijuu: He is talking AAA games from what it sounds like. GOG will likely not get new AAA unless publishers are willing to go DRM free on them (fat chance in most cases). Older AAA games always have a slight chance coming here drm free...
New games are mostly indie and old classics (the reason why most of us come here)

jjsimp: Well in that case, Dragon Commander came out what three weeks ago. We should get a few more from the same developer when Divinity OS and from kickstarters in the coming years. But other than those games, it is bleak for those AAA titles that some people are waiting for. Me, if it isn't on GOG I am not buying. If more gamers took this stance, we would soon see a shitload of new AAA releases on GOG.
Personally i wouldnt class Dragon Commander as AAA rated game.... but thats me. People shouldnt come to this site expecting new AAA releases......:/
Speaking of Ubisoft, I want Rayman Legends to be released on GOG so badly.
AND I WANT MOAR GAMES! MOAR MOAR MOAR MOAR MOAR!!!!! *yelling and waving fists at the screen*

It's interesting to see how many people are desperately in need of their daily game fix.

Wishes are great aren't they? Wishing something from your dealer...
I want to see GOG taking over Steam or even better Valve and making them eat their own medicine with CD Project Red relasing Half Life 3 with a mute Geralt as main character and a naked Tryss sex scene during every role-playing QuickTime Event at the end of each level.

I'm certainly not making a thread complaining that this hasn't happened yet, but if these threads go on like that I maybe will...

isn't the dvd version with all the expansion packs drm free? At least that's what it says on the box, I didn't buy it.
