Yay...?! Well, not really. Got a call early this morning telling me to come to their offices at 2pm for transfer of some-kind, so I got there and they did transfer me, to the streets! They said it was something with me not fitting the job as they like, some bullshit like this which is not true.
So now here I am (this kinda sounds like a song) now, jobless, surprised, angry, confused.
So much for my future game purchase plans, like Torchlight (SPECIALLY Torchlight, God dammit!), GOG games, my planned Wii Points card... all flushed down the toilet now, it seems.
So, my hope now resides on contests. Please GOG and people around here, make contests. Lots of them! I need moar! (LOL)
Sounds to me like you got shafted by the old 'let's make people redundant without giving them redundancy packages' bullshit.
Good luck finding a new job. Good luck with the contests too.
Hey, life goes on ;) Try to find another job right now don't wait too much or you'll be a video game freak !
LOL man...more contests? I didn't won the last one too, so you'll have to get a new job to have some stability. ;)
But, really, got fired? What area was your job?

The contests thingy is like an inside (ironic) joke. You know, contests-to-win-free-games-cause-I-can't-buy-em kinda thing. Reality aside, I do have bigger things to worry about now than buying games (although I do feel a bit sad 'cause of Torchlight...).
My area was of education. I worked on a program that involves school on a different period, and I worked as a monitor. It was really good for me, and without being over dramatic, it really helped us pay the bills here on my parents house (where I live).
I just went outside for a bit and kinda felt a need to punch someone, specially the ones responsible for firing me, LOL.
I wish you good luck for your job...as for the contests, GOG guys here release tonsof them, as you know :-D

Yes, i know you were joking. I'm sarcastic sometimes too.
Overall, just wishing a new job. It's even harder when the family is affected too, i know. Good luck from now on.
It sucks that you got fired, especially without a valid reason. =/
Boa sorte.
Sorry to hear about you getting fired/laid off, although it's something pretty much everyone will go through at some point in their lives. Take a day or two to clear your head, but try to get back into the job market as soon as you can so that your skillset and resume don't become dated.
Can you file a wrongful termination suit or something?

I'm guessing that unless he had a contract stating otherwise the employment would be considered "at will" meaning that either party can terminate the employment for any reason (or no reason).
Yeah, reminds me of one of a job I had over a decade ago. Been working at the company for almost two years and I was one of only a handful of employees who could actually read/understand the technical drawings they used (thus had to teach the minions how to do their jobs).
The boss of the company on a whim decides to fire me and everyone else who could actually read the technical drawings. The foreman was so pissed when he found out; probably more so than we were. Turns out he only fired us as a new law was about to be passed which would ensure job security for people who were employed for 24 months or more (so he fired us all around that dead line).
Funny thing is, as they were left with no one capable of reading the technical drawings; they made a huge mistake in a multi-million pound order, which not only lost them the client, but bankrupted them as well.
We laughed =)
I actually found a new job within the week too.
So you know, don't fret too much; something better will come along for you.

Damn man that sucks. At least you have a good thing to put on your resume though, it sounds like it was a responsible and trusted position (and if its not, make it sound like one). Any other places around that can give you something similar?

Hehe yeah a mate of mine had something similar, after 10 years at his company he was supposed to get a few months paid leave and they tried to fire him a week before the 10 years. He managed to put a spanner in the works somewhere and they couldn't manage to complete it before the deadline so he got the holiday pay and buggered off to europe

Yep, it's something like that. It's a program by the City Council, and we actually sign in as volunteers (remunerated ones, of course), but still volunteers. So now I won't get a thing off this job, except the money for the days I worked this month.

Good luck with that if you decide too, all they have to say is he didn't fullfil his job duties or other such nonesence. Unless you have smoking gun or internal document some prick attorney will want to be retained. Good luck getting a new job.
