Steam Greenlight has launched and ohhhh boy.... Its a mess out there. Lots of fake posts, lots of games where the owners have took to removing any negative comments from the comments box and chaos in general.

(This thread is for steam Greenlight. No random 'I HATE STEAM' posts if possible. Thankies)

However there are some nice gems if you look hard enough.

Note: Should I make a 'GOG' collection to put community choices into?
I am too lazy to copy every link out of my post on RPS, so here's the link...

http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/forums/showthread.php?6013-Steam-Greenlight&p=183435&viewfull=1#post183435

And here's the original text...
Here are the ones I'm really rooting for:

Signal Ops - This may very well be one of the most original ideas I've ever seen. At the same time, it kind of reminds me of The Sting!

Children of Liberty

Residue

Venusian Vengeance - I watched this one on TIGSource for a while. This guy's made a lot of freeware games, and I respect his work, and think he deserves to have at least one game get on to a large digital distributor.

Waiting for Horus - Another one I watched on TIGSource. The devs are pretty cool dudes, they had regular play sessions for a while, and the game's got a great aesthetic.

Will Fight For Food - Great game with some good humor. I wish it were quite a bit longer, but I really liked it.

Hoodwink

AirBuccaneers

NEStalgia

McPixel - It's a clear parody, but you can feel the love that went into making said parody.

Mutant Mudds - Let's prove Steam wrong on this decision. The game looks awesome.

Organ Trail

And ones I just found really interesting:

Saturday Morning RPG

Legends of the Old West

International Racing Squirrels

Enola

The Intruder

DramaGame - Probably much more interesting in theory than in practice.

Aril

8bit MMO

Gear Up
EDIT: Oh! It's a Wipe! is on my to-watch list. It has potential, but it hasn't quite gotten there just yet.

Haven't had the heart to go through most of them yet with all the fake posting and stuff, but I saw Towns in there, which is like a graphical dwarf fortress supposedly so I voted for that one :) (already available on GG at least from what I remember)

Was waiting for Xenonauts to pop up but apparently they already signed a contract with Steam so good on them \o/

I'd vote for King of Dragon Pass too, if they put it up there, that game deserves all the attention it gets, and I'm glad they finally managed to make it work for DD (thanks to GOG). It'll be interesting to see if he actually has the rights to spread his game to other DD's with GOG's work on it. (like the D&D titles seemed to have done before)

Man, House fire simulator was my favorite suggestion, how's that coming along?
XD
Ive been upvoting, downvoting and reporting a fair bit.

Giana Project definetly has me going 'oooh'

as does Gnomoria which seems to be trying to be a more accessable Dwarf Fortress. Unfortunatly a load of the DF fans seem to be hell bent on downvoting it to hell and back :P Shame...
I want Project Zomboid to be on steam. It will give them huge financial boost to make this game great.

Interesting, seems almost a straight rip with graphics, and gnomes instead of dwarfs, lol. Horrible music though ...

After all the drama and their ability to take forever to update, I just didn't have the heart to upvote them.

Not quite. Don't go in expecting DF. But it is a very promising game, nonetheless.

EDIT: Personally, my favorite so far is Signal Ops.

EDIT2: And pretty much everyone should get behind Organ Trail.

Quite funny, since they update the game pretty frequently and it's getting better with each release. And it's the only game where zombie bite kills you no matter what.

Oh, they finally started updating? I didn't buy it for the longest time because even several months after their computers got stolen, everyone was saying they weren't updating because someone wanted to wait until it was ready for beta and release one big update and blah blah blah.

I'd be more than glad to be proven wrong in this case, because it looked great, but the work ethic sounded horrible.

Yeah, they got better since that infamous computer stealing. They added nice stuff to the game, updated animations and character models, etc etc.

If it goes to steam and , I hope, steam workshop, we would see plenty custom scenarios from game fans to play, not only the sandbox mode.

The best zombie survival game I've played so far.

I don't want to make a new thread for a single game, so I'll dump it here:

HOME at last found it's way to steam. It will be avaible for 3 bucks in next few hours!

For some reason, Aldorlea Games took a lot of their games down. Shame. Dreamscape was the most interesting and it's gone now. :/

Millennium - the New Hope seems to be the only one left.

EDIT: Oh, Science Girls looked kinda neat. Hanako Games has been around for a while, it's a wonder why they aren't on Steam at all yet.

Immortal Defense, it's supposed to have a very good story, perhaps among the best in gaming. I'd very much like to own it on a big DD service (it's on GamersGate, but costs $20 and never goes on sale), and it certainly deserves to be on Steam.
