It's out. In the US anyway, which is where all the important people live.

Early impressions:

- Looks just as beautiful as the original, if not more so, and runs a hell of a lot better. Getting 50fps on extreme settings WOOHA! It has a hazy look compared to the crispness of the original though, which might annoy some. Reminds me of Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood.

- Obvious consolization annoys like the small FOV, lack of advanced settings menu and some HUD elements. It's not THAT bad though, and the game plays great.

- Not as open as Crysis but surprisingly open... on normal the game is so easy it matters little, but for my future hardest setting playthrough I am sure the large environment will help a lot like it did in the original Crysis. You still feel like a predator hunting dudes when you use cloak mode, which is great.

- Story seems terrible so far, hope that gets better.
A new version of this fan-made config tool will be out within a few days, so that'll help. For now you should be able to change the FOV and some other options with various command variables/tweaks.

Stop right there!

Don't play the game on normal. Start playing games on the hardest mode available on first run too. Just a little suggestion. :)

I don't really need that, it runs fine on max for me and I've never been one to be bothered by a low FOV, but I am sure some people are downright frothing at the mouth to get a hold of that.

I don't mind it, it's just different.
I laughed really hard at the thread title.

From what I've gathered so far it's above average. Hasn't suffered too much from the console versions. But is still not exactly one to rush out and buy.

I would guess that depends. Not a lot of shooters like this have been coming out lately, so if you want one then here it is. It's certainly a wake up call after all the Call of Duty clones nonsense, and it's supposed to be 10-12 hours long.

Multiplayer might not be anything amazing though, I haven't tried it yet.

Lack of quicksaves this time is preventing me from being excited for a hard playthrough. I hate repeating content.
