That would be a good thread, misnamed songs and misheard lyrics.
"I love The Nike Song by the Beatles!"

Iain: Got the Time - Anthrax

Hangar 18 - Megadeth

Master of Puppets - Metallica
Those guys are thrash metal, the OP meant Classic Rock from the late 60s and early 70s
If it qualifies for the purposes of this thread- Tom Sawyer by Rush.

That kills half of the songs mentioned here.

XD No, not yours. However all of the G&R, most of the ACDC, Whitesnake (well they lose out for being 80s AND for being total crap), pretty much lain's whole list, Dire Straits, the list goes on.

And the category was "rock song". Don Henley plays elevator music. :P

I do not follow....

tinyE: Dire Straits
Sultans of Swing was released in '78. I think it's fair to qualify it as 'classic' rock in the traditional sense (60s and 70s).

Money for Nothing was 80s.

I want to stress I DON'T care and I think a good rock song need not be confined to a decade, I'm just pointing out a small hitch in the aforementioned argument. :D

Touche. :-)
You don't enjoy anything new, like QOTSA or The White Stripes for example? OK then, let's say:
"Mother" - Danzig
"Wild Child" - W.A.S.P.
"Rebel Yell" - Billy Idol
"Painkiller" - Judas Priest
"Seek and Destroy" - The Stooges
"I'm Bored" - Iggy Pop
"Guns of Brixton" - The Clash

Marzooker: I want to hear REAL rock from the 80's and under.
I thought "classic rock" only referred to 60's rock music.

And yet he said "80's and under".

I think it qualifies as 'classic' if at any time someone has heard you listening to it and said, "You like that old crap?"

That happened to me the other day when I was listening to Nevermind. Thank god for me Lake Superior is so big so there is NO WAY they are going to be able to find that little bastard's corpse.
