So I was looking at "The Real Texas" and I was very intrigued by it. So much so that I was considering buying it. Normally when I look at a new game my first thought is, "Will my crappy, slightly updated, 8-year-old laptop be able to handle this game?" Usually the answer is no (except many games on GOG have been an exception to this rule.) Looking at the screenshots for "The Real Texas," that thought never entered into my head. Yet, to be safe, I checked the system requirements. DAMN! I understand that many new indie games use pretty hardcore software for development, but DAMN!
I have run into this problem too many times before. The Whispered World, Edna and Harvey, Sam and Max, Back to the Future, the new Monkey Island...and the list goes on. I guess I am just ranting because one of my favorite genres of games, adventure, is making a hard comeback in the indie market, but I can't play them. This really sucks!
Rant over.
