This gem I noticed still is not on GOG, does anyone know if they plan on releasing it, or what we need to do for them to put this out? This game was so good and unfortunately overlooked in its time. I am sure anyone who is a fan of the following would love this: Might and Magic, Wizardry, Ultimas, Land of Lore.

If anyone knows what can alert them to getting this, please let me know! I should also mention I am talking the game from 2000, by Hueristic Parks

Thanks, now if we can get more to vote! This is a game many people missed out on that would love it today still!
it should only be 1 link to gather all votes

i managed to play W&W on win XP but i had to restart because of the town problem compressed .avi unable to enter buildings,
now i don't have win xp and it doesn't work on win 8
This game had a ton of potential, too bad it didn't deliver.
DW Bradley definitely lost his designer mojo after he left Sir Tech, going from designing Wizardry 6-7 to CyberMage (not a bad game, but still simplistic and action-orientated), then W&W, and then Dungeon Lords, probably one of the worst (and most buggy/unfinished) RPG's ever made.

Sad really, same thing happened to Richard Garriot after Ultima 7.

I had the same problem when I played it years ago, got permanently stuck in the 2nd town the first time I entered it.

Thanks for the link, will try that if I go to play it again.

I think it had potential, it was just too unfinished/broken (and remains that way even after several re-releases).

so you tested it on win 7 x64 and worked :)
ok,
how did you got it to work?
I'll post the links to the patches below.

The only thing that doesn't work for me is the intro' video. The actual game plays fine, The only adjustment i had to make was in the ingame options. When in the towns, a mouse click would zoom from one end of the town to the other, so the building in the middle would never show in the middle of the screen. I cant remember which option i changed, probably mouse or resolution.

This is the page for the patches, including the fix for the town crashes. The links are half way down the page under Wizards and Warriors Patches

http://www.jeffludwig.com/wizardswarriors/download.php

The below link gives advice on settings. It also includes details on using Virtual Dub to change the town files, BUT with the patches linked above this is already done for you

Hope this helps !

thanks, i forgot about them :)
Just installed it, seems to be working well (only been to the menu so far) with the patches Huff linked to and these compatibility settings:

• Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows 98 / Windows ME.
• Run this program as an administrator.

Yeah, the game froze when I clicked on the intro button...

Playing "intro.bik" in the "X:\Program Files (x86)Activision\WizardsWarriors\movie" folder with VLC / Media Player Classic or the Rad Video Tools seems to work well.
Might want to avoid "book.bik", I think it might be the ending movie.
