Yes their speculation proved accurate, but it was no less hope-fuelled.

I know, right? Those few posters that come here just to tell us how stupid we are (some even stop by just to make a new thread with a link in it about this issue to try troll users here) were right all along.

Most people in the area I live in didn't have a clue what DRM was. I would try to explain it sometimes but was met with blank stares. It wasn't "As if, nobody gives a shit." It was that they just didn't understand, not that they didn't care. Some of them had even been bitten by DRM like iTunes before but still didn't understand why it happened. After this, I can actually say in a casual conversation with friends and acquaintances "Yeah, I don't like the DRM that's being offered with the new Xbox" and I'll get a response of "Yeah, me neither" instead of a bunch of blank stares, even though the last generation did have some DRM if you bought digitally.
