I used the gog downloader to download the whole thing at once (so i have 1000 bin_chunk files and all that crap)

tried to run installer from gog downloader window, VLC launched to open the bin files..
uninstalled VLC, restarted, attempted to install. Install won't work from gog downloader.
find exe in download directory, run from there as admin.
Checks file integrity and then gets an error saying "cannot open setup_the_witcher_2-2.bin"

gog downloader won't re-download anything, all the files appear to be there and of the right size. no option to recompile the bin chunks etc

what the hell is the point of checking file integrity if there is no way to re-download the sections needed?

It is linking to the wrong file. You need to go to where your files were downloaded. There should be a exe file you can double click to install.

Same shit, mate! Also, at Glowcew, he already SAID he tried to use the EXE, as did I. My integrity checker is telling me I have corrupt BIN files, which is pretty much fucking impossible. I'm pretty frustrated. Don't know what to do.

Windows 7 users (right click run as administrator) default game dir is in documents make sure you are running for that directory.

Only option left was to download and try the 2gig file directly in hopes that will work in its place
not happy at a) having to wait ANOTHER hour and b) wasting ANOTHER 2 gb downloading this

Anybody else having trouble with the gog downloader having gone directly for the 9.6gb option?

Looks like I have a similar problem, I have files
setup_the_witcher_2-1.bin.chunk0
through to
setup_the_witcher_2-5.bin.chunk31

All downloaded via the latest GoG install.
No exe. I thought that must have been the file to get on the 17th May to combine them or something.

Anyway getting all the manuals and things now. One thing for sure I do not have the band width to download it all again until next month if there is a problem I can not solve.

Same problem! I have the AU version. Downloaded 10GB of .bin files but using the "install" option through GOG downloader either does nothing or opens VLC as original poster mentions (I presume because of the .bin) extension.

The setup runs the integrity check and then nothing happens...

Thanks, Joshido. I'm on Win7 and needed to run the setup_the_witcher_2.exe as Administrator.

Already tried multiple times to run the "setup_the_witcher_2.exe (2305kb)" as admin, it starts its integrity check, fails @ 2-2.bin and then closes.

Same goddamn thing, aerials. Someone, please fuckin help with this crock o shit!

I think I've worked out why this was happening on my computer at least. You need to clear some space on the drive where your gog download folder is, remove witcher 2 from the downloader, add it back in again from the website then let it do the combine / etc a second time. If it runs out of hd space to convert the chunks into bins instead of doing you the courtesy of telling you so it just leaves the chunk files and lets you work it out yourself

Try checking the gog download folder in my documents!

I downloaded to a custom folder but all I had there were chuck files and no setup (hence nothing happened after clickin install) when I checked the default downloadfolder the combined setup files were in there!

I left the folder as default and still none of the files combined.

i tried deleting "setup_the_witcher_2-2.bin.chunk0 (51,200kb)", removing the witcher from the gog downloader and re-adding it to force a re-download. it is re-combining the chunks atm, will let you know how it goes.

tripple edit: deleting one of the chunk files and removing the witcher and re-adding in the downloader does indeed fix the problem.
files are now as they should be

Mine never combined in the first place for some reason. That's a great idea, I'm about to try it.
OK so i deleted all the chunk files, aerials, and im redownloading the two bin files it had a problem with manually...well see how it goes
