mjcowley: With all these checks and changes, I still get informed all the large bin files are corrupt when attempting to run setup_the_witcher_2.exe
Just finished my third complete download through the down loader. Each time gave up 3-5 corrupt files. Now trying to download them individually.

This is pretty damn annoying given how long each step takes

Do this: when you delete some files, delete THE BIN file itself AND the first chunk, chunk 0 for each of your corrupted files. i had to do this for all of 2-1, 2-2, 2-3, and 2-5. Only 2-4 somehow escaped corruption.

remember delete both the bin file itself and the first chunk. Then remove witcher from download manager, exit download manager, add witcher 2 from gog.com once again. It'll only download about 100 mb and should compile ok. Hope you get it working.
I'm going through the exact same problem. The files refuse to join up, or things get corrupt. I've downloaded it twice in the launcher (And tried the thing mentioned above once) as well as downloaded each file individually through the browser for it to run Integrity check and state its corrupted -again-.
ok so I dont know it is not just a bit of luck. I have finally installed the game. I have files downloaded via gog downloader and via browser. I have separated each file to separate folders and for installation used all browser files with one exception. I have used the file setup_the_witcher_2-2.bin downloaded via gog downloader.
THIS.

Anyone having corruption issues, try this.

Many thanks kind stranger, you saved me many hours of frustration

I just downloaded the game for the 2nd time ... first with the downloader and now with the browser and I'm getting the exact same error as Anatoly had a few posts back.
The files merged correctly and the integrity check was fine too but when i install the game it stops after half the installation and i get :

The Witcher 2\CookedPC\pack0.dzip The source file is corrupted

I tried everything mentioned earlier but nothing helped..... and It's 100% not a hardware issue like bad drive or ram because i get the exact same error on my older comp aswell

any help would be cool cos i don't think downloading it a 3rd time is gonna change anything :(

I couldn't get 1.2 installed so I uninstalled and now everytime I run the installer it randomly tells me a file's corrupt. The File Integrity check at the beginning will always tell me 1-4 random BIN files are corrupt (never consistent) and I confirmed with a friend that my MD5 / SHA-1 hashes of the BINs are valid. I've tried running as admin, with AV off, with UAC off... no change!

It seems like pure luck if I can get it installed... sometimes it fails at 10%, sometimes at 90%, once I got it installed but then the Patcher told me I was incomplete. This is beyond ridiculous, I am VERY disappointing in GOG; I wouldn't be having these problems with Steam
Has nobody else had this problem since? Or did everyone who did give up? It's been a week now and after 3 separate downloads of the installer I still can't get the game installed. GOG Support has also been very unhelpful and I'm losing hope
is there anyone left i been trying to get it to work for 2 days help please

I'm sorry I haven't been any help. But I have downloaded the game three times from GOG, with no errors, incomplete downloads, or corrupt files on any attempt. That includes two downloader runs and one manual download. So it's not a universal problem.

It is an extremely taxing download, and if your Internet connection does not maintain flow long enough to complete it, you will fail and end up with corrupt files.

Also, if you are sure you have clean downloads (comparing file size and hashes is quite good enough) but still get variable install failures, I would suggest going back and looking very carefully at your memory. Ordinary memory testers, even memtest86+, frequently miss bad memory, and the surest way to get a variable install failure is to have a stick of intermittently bad memory.
I clear my downloads and all the other games download even on steam so it can't be my memory. I down loaded Wow and that should be bigger then this. It may be the internet should i start over?

It still could be your memory. The installer for this game is huge. The fact that you cleared other downloads doesn't have anything to do with that; that just frees up some disk space, not RAM.

If it's the Internet, you'd get inconsistent sizes and hashes on the downloaded files. If these are good, but you get variable failures, I'd suspect memory. If you get a consistent failure in the same place, I'd suspect a rogue application interfering with the installer. Something like (but obviously not the same as) WinZip arguing with InstallShield in physical-disk installs over who gets to open .cab files.
I had the same problem after downloading the game via the GOG Downloader. Gave an error that it cannot open one of the .bin files. I copied the whole directory onto another hard drive and the setup ran with no errors during the verification process.

Hope this helps someone.
I tried to run setup but it's say files couldn't find the located but I already paste them I. Same folder but it's happening several time when I did this very annoying and never faced this type of problems before I think gog doesn't provide good stuff may b I buy the dvd from market it will b better for me and I won't purchase any game from gog bye gog your cute little gamer customer leave you
Hi! I have downloaded all the files of witcher 2 and put them in a separate folder: Nevertheless, when I try to installi the game I am asked to write where the files are located: What can I do in order to install the game?
