I've sung my praises elsewhere on here... I've been truly floored by TW2 during my first few hours of play.

My one gripe... my one and only gripe is:

What happened to the Kingslayer's voice?! It was so much better in that old trailer - the cutscene of his first meeting with Iorweth.
He's turned American! I've got nothing against Americans, but it's a well known rule that they're not allowed in fantasy worlds. Just the same as all Dwarves are well known to be at least part-Scottish :-P

*sigh* well I suppose I'll just have to get used to it. He's still a fantastic character, along with the rest of the main cast.
Yeah this disappointed me a little as well.
I agree. He looks great but the voice... not so much.
Iorveth sounds different too..would DLing the english voice overs fix it or is that something completely different?

I wondered the same... maybe they did a UK-specific localisation :-P
But nope, I'm fairly sure that's just for non-English-language copies of the game if players decide they want the english voices/subtitles.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that's painfully annoyed by this. Loving the game so far, and this was such an unexpected disappointment.

Iorweth's voice changed too... and it too was -significantly- better in the old trailer.

Someone please tell me there's an alternative voice pack somewhere to get these old voices back. Were the old voices just placeholder voices for use in the old trailer? If so, I think they had their perfect voice actors and should have contracted them for the parts full time.

Anyone know anything official?

The Iorveth voice change is very painful. I went from loving this char in the trailers, to borderline annoyed with him.

I searched, and there was an old post from the official witcher forums (cached on google, but obviously absent on the actual site now) where someone claimed that the voice parts were recast at some point.

I can't say I've noticed Iorweth's change, as I didn't recall him from the trailer, but Kingslayer's voice rather stuck in my mind.

Ah well, just gotta get used to it I guess. Neither are bad voice actors... once you get through to the end of the game, you'll probably look back at that trailer and think "that doesn't sound right!" :-P

Happened that way for me with Telltale's Sam & Max episodes. First two, I couldn't get on with the voices... a season later, and I couldn't imagine any other actors in their place!

Aghh why did they have to use it in the trailers then? I'm kinda wishing they didn't now because to me the voices from the trailers sound a WHOLE lot better.
I actually like his new voice. I think it gives him a little bit more depth and even empathy as a character if he doesn't just sound like Hulking Badass #863.
Yeah Kingslayer's voice sounds perfect, why was he recast?
Eh, this isn't really one of those cases where I dislike the new voice just because it changed. It's because I genuinely think they're not nearly as good.
yeah i noticed the different kingslayer voice and I wasnt happy with the new one!

Yeah I needed the subtitles to fully understand the original voice but its suited the character so well!

This one doesnt as much.

Agreed, the new voices aren't nearly as interesting as the old ones. Maybe these "better" voice actors would have been too expensive to hire to voice the full game so they had to redo the lines with cheaper actors who can do the full thing.
Yeah they changed the Elf and the Kingslayer, I'm disappointed they don't sound nearly as good.

Speaking of which, they changed zoltan and triss and a few others around, which peeves me.
