Thanks for the translation.

Tomasz will be missed, CDPR don’t seem the same now that he is gone, i hope he comes back at a later time.
The guy's spent 5 years managing Witcher-related projects and nothing else, i can see why he'd want to take a break from that and work on something fresh.
I've heard about the pitfalls of the buisness and how demanding it is. I guess burn out is a natural result for at least some. Hopefully, he'll get some much needed rest, and then embark on another journey. I can only wish him well in whatever he does next.
I understand him wanting change and cannot blame him, but I really want him to stay anyway :-). He is such a supercool guy.

But all hope is not lost. I remember that when I heard Michal Madej (lead designer on Witcher 1) left after finishing TW1, I was worried about how will TW2 turn out. And guess what, it turned out to be the best game since TW1 (and even better than TW1 I would say). So while I want Tomek back, I am sure CDP is full of great capable people that can go on delivering amazing experiences.

But yeah, it won't be the same.
A big, manly and dwarvish hug to Tomasz.

GL&HF!
I really don't want to look back a few years from now and see this as the moment that splintered CDPR. The whole thing just has a kind of ominous vibe. Hope I'm wrong of course, but I can't shake the feeling that somethin's brewin'.
Like the rest of you guys and girls i really wonder why he left. Was it because he had enough of Geralt? I don't think so since he was so passionate and eager on the presentations. Maybe he didn't like the way TW2 turned out? I mean the game is great, better than the first game in some aspects(musics, environment, story telling...) but CDPR was one of the last castles of exclusive pc gaming and it is fallen, maybe he is upset about this?
I could see the whole console thing not sitting well with him. After so much time talking about the game being built from the ground up for PC it's pretty obvious that it only really was from a graphical standpoint. Then to have virtually the entire team switch from refining and creating new content for the PC version to pushing out a console version? Honestly that would rub me the wrong way too. Not that they don't deserve to make money and I certainly don't begrudge them for porting to a console but I do feel kind of left hangin' in the wind by 'em at the moment.
The thing is, this combined with no official forums, no eta for patch 1.3, and a general air of leaving the pc fans behind (where is the tool set or new dlc?), leaves me troubled.
So many negative nancies here, when the truth of the matter is stated by Tomek himself and there is no reason to doubt him:

He spent last 5 years on Geralt. That takes its toll on people, on some sooner than others. Change is good. He might be back someday.

I am in my current employment for 2 and a half years and I am getting fed up with it..
How do we know what the truth is? Politicians in the US always say they are quitting to spend time with their family but we know that isn't really the case. I think there is more here than what they are saying. After all he could have taken a different job at the company.

Other possibilities are as mundane as more money, more recognition or maybe even design or artistic differences. If you are old enough to have held a few jobs you know exactly what I'm saying. We never tell the truth as to what our real motives are.
"We never tell the truth as to what our real motives are."

Sometimes we do. But if I were in his shoes and had creative differences or was disappointed in the direction of the company I'd likely take the high road and not bite the hand that made my name in the gaming world.

I have a sneaking suspicion there will be more candid comments from our good buddy Tom in the next six months. Of course I could be wrong. Maybe he was just tired? My gut says that's not the case...
Don't know this man, but I wish him luck for his future ambitions and projects. He deserves it after the thorough job he and his mates have made with The Witcher 1 and 2
Just because many other companies are full of questionable marketing and communication practices it does not mean everyone else is.
I would certainly like to wait till we have some actual and valid information at hand and even further until the so called “first strike”.
CDPR have proven that they try very hard to be different and better than the rest…
Given all their hard work… let's give them a benefit of the doubt :)
Here is GameBanshee's interview with Tomek Gop after he left CD Projekt:

And some more words from Tomasz:

Gop tells us, "Well, one thing is... just me. I decided to change things that connect with my personal life. Like, for example, time I spend at work. So I'll probably seek something more predictable. Other thing is RED. I was a Producer, not Project Lead. So I'm quite sure [the] guys will handle things easily even without me."
