Hello, 1.07 seems to have tanked my game.

When I click the green "play" button in Galaxy, it will just stay green and sometimes it will gray out.. But either one will not load the game and will just run it in the background in the task manager and nothing to click on in the task bar. Anyone else having issues with this??

You could try this:

Q.: When I start the game nothing happens, but I can see the application running in the background.
A.: There has been a solution circling around that worked for quite a few people, thanks to Hycinthus:

1. Uninstall Galaxy
2. Open command line (Start->type "cmd" -> right click "cmd.exe" and click "run as administrator")
3. Type sc delete GalaxyClientService
sc delete GalaxyCommunication
4. Go to //gamedir\bin\x64 and rename or delete galaxy.dll
5. Launch the game, an error message will pop up, but the next time you start it everything should be fine

Hope this will help!

Thanks for the reply!
By deleting the Galaxy client will I lose progress in my games?
Good question. I don't know. Better backup all your saveames and game install files before you do this.

Is there a way that I can just download the game onto my hard drive instead of going through galaxy??

The game is on your hard drive. Why not just run it through the witcher3.exe file in your The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt > bin > x64 folder?

Hmm.. I just tried it and I got the loading cursor for like 2 seconds and it went away.. Nothing popped up and nothing is in the task manager!

Interesting problem. Only other suggestion I have is to go into Galaxy, select More > Manage > Verify/Repair. Then try starting through the .exe again.

Could it be an antivirus program blocking the .exe from running? Did you have the game modded when you installed 1.07? I'm assuming you installed 1.07.

So I've validated the files.. Now I get a black popup and then the game disappears and green button returns.. Clicking the harddisk copy does the same thing.. I'm reverting back to 1.6 and seeing if that works.

Yes! Use your browser and load it from your library (under Account) or use the GOG Downloader (https://www.gog.com/downloader) The download links for the GOG downloader are in your library too ("more button").
The install backup files for Witcher 3 should aslo be on your PC because you used Galaxy. But don't ask me where to look for them (try windows search).

I haven't seen your problem listed elsewhere, but you might want to keep an eye on this thread in case it does come up.

I am sure you probably would have mentioned a popup starting "MatchesCountError" but could it possibly be this glitch:

"14 Game doesn't start - MatchesCountError message
Caused by Dev console enabler mod.
SOLUTION: Delete dsound.dll in Witcher 3 directory (bin/x64)"

?
