My absolute favourite of the C&C Games, and the first one I bought. I spent so many hours after school playing it alone or with friends. We actually like to take turns at the skirmish, so not actual multiplayer but that was also a huge fun. For me it was the perfect RTS game and it not taking itself too serious was a huge plus :D

I played this endlessly as a kid. There's fun unit variety and it's a good spin on the C&C formula. More importantly, though, the FMV sections feature German art-house staple Udo Kier as Yuri and Ray Wise--Twin Peaks' own Leland Palmer--as the US President.

For me it is one of the best RTS outthere, no question asked. It is the most fun RTS ever, with the right amount of cheese, doesn't take itself very seriously, fun units, the gameplay being classic C&C as it finest. Played a LOT back then, and for a while had trouble getting a copy (lost mine sadly) so if I can get it back I'm all for it !

"Warning! Military software detected, top-secret clearance required." What an introduction to the installer! Probably the best installer I've ever seen for any game or piece of software ever. Even the installer was part of the story and introduction to the game. It had such an impact with the flavor text and feeling like you needed to input the CD-key within the time limit. This is now lost as you generally just download from a store-front with no installer interaction. The game is a masterpiece all round. Multiplayer was great but it only supported IPX for LAN. I think internet multiplayer was fine.

Well, well, well, if it isn't the nemesis of my mum (apparently 2D guns were always too much in games) :D Anyway, whatever time I could sneak into playing this game or watch from the sidelines of my cousin, I was loving every moment of it. The different units of the differing factions - especially the more bizarre instances (dolphins, squids, mind control...) - really amazed me. Combine that with an interesting campaign and entertaining cutscenes, you get a winning combination. I'd love to see the day we finally get a GOG re-release of the series

Zoo Tycoon 2
Zoo Tycoon 2Zoo Tycoon 2 is the sequel to Zoo Tycoon. The sequel updates the graphics, but keeps much of the original gameplay the same. You start with an open field and must build it up into a zoo. Create exhibits and populate them with animals. Build amenities and concession stands to keep visitors happy in between exhibits. Happy visitors will donate more money to your zoo so you can make it better. However, you have much more freedom in exhibit creation. You don't even need fences; a moat or ditch will suffice, as this technique is popular at real high profile zoos. There are also more animals and attractions to place in your zoo, and animal habitats look as realistic as the cartoony graphics style will allow.

Zoo Tycoon: Complete Collection
Zoo Tycoon: Complete CollectionAn insidiously addictive simulation game, Zoo Tycoon allows players to create their own zoo, but not just any zoo. It's completely free-form: Start with fences for your exhibits, then pick animals and give them toys, foliage, and anything else you want. For your customers, you can lay down paths to lead them around, then add food stands, amusement rides, even maps and trash cans. Not sure what you need? The zoo advisors will tell you how to make the animals happy, and the customers themselves will tell you what they're looking for, be it snacks, more animals, or anything else. There's also a vast amount of background information on each critter--its diet, its habitat, etc.--which can be useful when you're adding a macrauchenia or a Loch Ness Monster. In all, you can choose over 100 animals, plus countless habitat and park embellishments.
